At one time, I swore off getting involved with games from Russian developers and even deleted War Thunder And Star Conflict from a computer. I have never regretted deleting Star Conflict - the game is “de facto” dead and is in a state of clinical death, which even the head of the studio admits in an interview in 2018. It’s a pity that he blames what happened on the certain complexity of a game about space for players (this is not true - Star Conflict is very simple), and not on the actions of his studio, which once again steps on a rake and buries with its own hands CrossOut. However, this post is not about the problems of the Targem Games studio, but about my impressions of War Thunder after a year-long break.

It would seem that War Thunder has changed radically: the navy, modern tanks, supersonic aircraft with air-to-air missiles, guided missiles, helicopters! New gameplay that players have been waiting for for so long. Our competitors don’t have anything like this and they certainly won’t have anything like it in the near future. And, with some reservations, this is all true. There is no deception here: all the things introduced into the game are quite “playable” and add new gameplay mechanics, they are not made for show. Perhaps for once, developers have learned to thoroughly test new features and get feedback from players, and not just rely on gut instinct according to the principle “I’m a developer and I know my own game better than anyone else.”
Along with the new mechanics and technology, the game still has all the problems that players were dissatisfied with a year ago, when I stopped actively playing it:

  • out of sync when the game does not record your hits on the enemy
  • "typical wartander" when a hit passes but does not destroy your opponent. Anti-aircraft guns that can withstand several hits from an MBT cannon are commonplace
  • low drawing range for aircraft in tank battles, which deprives them of the ability to strike from a safe distance
  • Balance! He is not and never was. The game has comfortable cars, a lot of “cacti” (for example, all the reserve French tanks are simply unplayable, but the developers don’t care about this at all) and every patch there is an “imba” that annihilates everyone and everything. In the latest patch, "Tunguska" made ALL aviation practically useless in joint battles.
  • The presence of cheaters and near-cheaters who simply turn on minimal graphics in tank battles, thus gaining an advantage in visibility over other players. Cheaters are not banned in the game, since they are also active donors. And they can even be understood: people paid money, they want to “bend over”, but the mechanics of the game do not allow them to do this, which is why all sorts of paid subscriptions for cheats are so popular.

What surprised me most was the difficulty of leveling up. If at the first three ranks it became relatively easy, fast and fun, then the suffering begins. In the next patch at the end of April, the developers want to change the economy and make it easier to level up at high ranks. To do this, it was necessary to endure for two years, ignore the indignation of the players (even all the official YouTubers spoke about this) and extort money from the players to buy premiums, of which there are now an incredible amount?

By the way, premium vehicles in WT used to cost much less than those in World of Tanks, and this was an advantage. But since then there have been two falls in the ruble exchange rate, the premium currency in WT was officially pegged to the dollar exchange rate and now we are greeted with premium packages with a new imba of 3000-4000 rubles! It is never less than that of its “potato” competitor. Previously, developers were frankly embarrassed to introduce premium equipment that would be far superior to linear machines, but now this rule is over. Here's the XM-1 bender tank, here's the Ju.288 bomber, which overtakes and overturns any fighter. And if you want to pump out equipment at high ranks and earn a lot of “lions”, then you will have to get premium high-ranking vehicles. And no matter what life seems like honey, we will increase the price of repairs and ammunition so much that even in the event good fight player, in best case scenario, will play to zero, or even better, go into the minus! Almost all conventional bombers are unprofitable. That's why I left the "potatoes" and went to War Thunder. The developers seem to be hinting to us that it’s time to fork out the cash and buy a “premium” one, preferably with premium equipment. But I have no desire to pay several thousand rubles for painted models. Moreover, for a very random gameplay , where you are either at the top (rarely) and play comfortably, or go to the hangar after 5 minutes of battle (in most cases), without doing anything useful for the team.

The last straw was an attraction of unprecedented generosity called “Front Mechanic”. The point of this event is that you play the game and for 10 minutes of being in battle you receive 1-2 repair kits, which you spend in large quantities on repairing the aircraft. It sounds simple, the implementation in the game is confusing (the proprietary interface has not gone away), but in fact the player is offered to stay in the game for several dozen hours in order to be able to get the desired trophy without money. And if you want to get a top trophy, then get ready to play for a couple of hundred hours. Almost all players are “on fire” from this marathon with a twisted theory of probability, where you are always a loser. Foreign players are trying to understand the mechanics of the marathon and calculate the number of hours to achieve the goal.

Personally, I spent 8 hours on the marathon and realized that I was wasting my life wrong. During this time, I didn’t even disassemble a quarter of the plane, but I was faced with the need to buy the missing parts for repairs on the stock exchange. In the end, I found the strength to stop and not do this. I'd rather watch a couple of movies instead. To justify the developers, I can say that earlier in the game in general there was no way to win any trophy, fulfill daily tasks and people just stupidly flew the same planes in the same maps. There were no tanks then, no navy, and post-war jet fighters were only a dream. And we loved this game then, which is amazing! At that time, the simulator mode was still alive and people bought joysticks to fly there. It's a shame that the game has now been reduced to an aviation arcade and tank battles, and everything else became irrelevant.

Take care of your nerves and play interesting games.

I've been playing the wonderful Assassin's quite successfully for three weeks now. Creed Odyssey, have played over 100 hours, have leisurely completed 85% of the main campaign, and have a lot of thoughts about this series and this particular game. Since I put the “pirate headband” on the shelf and became an honest user, therefore, unlike Origins, I bought “Odyssey” with my own hard-earned money and it turned out without problems, because I did it on a promotion with a 50% discount for 999 rubles, and even by activating a 20% discount, which is given for 100 Uplay points - in the end the discount turned out to be such that it was not foreseen in any Steam at that time. They are awarded for achievements in Ubisoft games, and even without completing all of Crew 2, I have accumulated enough of these points. In general, the idea of giving out points for completing your favorite game is very cool and I hope Gaben will someday steal it for his Steam.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is not a revolutionary game, but a further continuation of the ideas of Origins, made on the same engine and on the same assets in the form of houses, bushes, trees, textures... and combat system taken from there. Someone even rushed to call it an addon to Origins, which is passed off as new game, but Odyssey 10 times larger in scope and the number of quests than Origins, so it turned out to be a very strong addon. It is clear that the game designers had a holistic vision of the game and they clearly implemented it, simplifying some old annoying mechanics, making the game very simple in some places (for example, completely removing damage from falling from a height, since there are a huge number of mountains in the game, and it’s safe you’ll obviously quickly get tired of getting down from them), somewhere faster combat, completely redoing the hero’s skill trees. Yes, there are few breakthrough ideas here, but the working mechanics that players liked so much have been polished. Did players want more weapons? Here you have a huge amount of weapons and armor and they all have different effects, they often fall out of “monsters”, but here you also have the opportunity to modify them at the blacksmith (you can add the effect of poison or fire to your favorite sword). Dear players wanted greater variability in completing quests, just like in The Witcher 3? No problem, here you have a quest with a choice right on the starting island, where the obvious message of a good player to save innocent people from the priests will destroy the island and start an epidemic (sorry for the spoiler, but this is like an obvious twist). However, it is clear that later the game designers were afraid of such variability and reduced it in quests simply to different ways of solving problems (intimidating the npc or attacking is such a choice, and sometimes you can simply refuse to perform the action and leave). Although, when completing side quests, I came across some really interesting moments when your quest giver turned out to be not at all who he said he was. Following the precepts of the Witcher, side quests here they turned out to be very interesting and they are all voiced by actors. And the game also has endless quests in the style of “quickly run there and kill everyone there”, which the game generates itself, including dialogue phrases (sometimes it turns out wrong) - very similar to the Radiant AI system in Skyrim, only unlike Skyrim it works here and the war between provinces never stops even without player action.
The map in the game is simply huge, and for lovers of endless adventures, it is possible to turn off the interface in the game and find quest goals only after a verbal description from the dialogues (example: go north near such and such a temple or to the coast of the southeast). In addition, even with task markers turned on, there are so-called “points”, which represent a riddle and after solving it you must find a certain location where there will be another clue and so on. All this is quite interesting and if you are fed up with endless battles, then you can just relax and explore the world.
When discussing the Ubisoft game, thanks to all sorts of narrow-minded YouTube bloggers like Itpedia, it is impossible to go through the donation topic. For some reason, they are shocked by the presence of booster boosters and a huge number of cosmetic skins in a single-player game that are sold for real money. For me this is not a problem, because experience in the game is earned without problems without buying an “xp booster”, no one forces you to buy it. Moreover, buying a booster is a very stupid thing, because the whole game is essentially about accumulating experience. What is it, a player buys a thing to play less? Why did he even buy the game if he’s too lazy to spend an extra hour exploring the world and running around doing side quests? Similarly with “cosmetics” - Ubisoft added the ability to obtain them in-game without any donation. In Origins there was a seller of “loot boxes”, from which “golden” armor often dropped out, and in Odyssey the system is more cunning: you first need to earn orichalcum, which is given in the amount of 10 pieces for completing a simple daily quest, and then you can either buy a “loot box jug” (I don’t recommend it, since purple items drop out there) or for a larger amount of orichalcum, buy the desired legendary item or skin from an open assortment, which changes every week. Yes, you won’t be able to buy everything at once, orichalcum accumulates for a very long time, but this way the game motivates you to stay in it longer and log into it every day. And no one canceled receiving legendary items and skins for exploring the world! I’m not defending corporations that essentially profit from users by treating them as cash cows with wallets, but Ubisoft’s system so far seems “fair”: if you don’t have money for “skins” and packs, don’t buy them. However, sometimes they proprietary pumping system crashes when they try to push it into non-fantasy games. For example, if you don’t upgrade your character and weapons in the game Far Cry New Dawn, then you can even shoot a carload of bullets into the face of the main boss from a machine gun - nothing will happen to him. Looks like a mockery. There is a similar system of oppressing the player in Crew 2: if the level of parts inside your vehicle is less than that stated by your opponents, then even if you drive perfectly, the game simply will not allow you to win! Simply because you are not allowed to do this due to your low level. Such a system, where progress depends not on personal skills, but simply on the experience gained, insults “skilled” players, but it is more democratic and linear for the broad masses of players, and at the same time artificially keeps the player in the game, not allowing him to finish it in a few minutes. hours. Did you spend time, look at the open world (in vain, perhaps the best artists tried) and eventually gained experience? Move forward in the story calmly.
The game itself advertised the “store” to me only once, and the fact that you don’t buy something there won’t make you play any worse. All these entertainments are aimed at wealthy foreign audiences who are ready to spend an extra $100 on their favorite game without any problems. The only problem for me personally is the high cost of the season pass (it costs as much as 1800 rubles, and I bought the game itself for 800!). The season pass includes two quite interesting DLCs with several hours of content and a remaster of Assassin's creed III, which turned out to be, to put it mildly, not the most technologically advanced (in some places it even got worse), but they sell it as a full-fledged game separately. No money, but want to know the plot? The walkthrough is on YouTube.
Among the gameplay innovations, I liked the redesigned skill tree and the ability to select all weapons and armor specifically for your fighting style. That is, now you can put on “killer armor” and increase the damage of a hidden attack, when you can secretly destroy the strongest opponents and mercenaries with one or two hits. And you can pump up the defense and damage of a warrior, if you prefer open combat with a large number of opponents, or the damage of an archer - now you can easily create a sniper who will deal with enemies with one shot (by the way, the type of bows is now always the same, which is much simpler and more convenient compared to Origins). You can even upgrade your ability to tame animals and walk with a huge bear or lion. As you progress through the game, you will need all these skills and the game will push you to this one way or another. For example, some of the “bosses” are easier to shoot with a bow, wild animals are difficult to attack with weapons, and not all places in the game can be passed through secretly and you will be forced to enter into battle. The new patches even introduced the ability to create and change outfit sets on the fly for each play style, not to mention the ability to switch skill sets on the fly. I'm glad that all skill points can be reset and redistributed without any problems - experiment for your health. I played the game on my old Logitech gamepad and, unlike the previous part, I shot with a bow much more often, but it’s still 10 times easier to aim on a mouse, especially game mechanics encourages not just shooting, but accurate shooting at the head of an npc (there are skills and engravings for critical damage when shooting).
The game has total auto-leveling, but it is more advanced and not as disgusting as in TESO or Skyrim. At the beginning of the game, some territories will be inaccessible to you, and opponents who are more than 3 levels superior to you are a mortal threat. After you “outgrow” your opponents in level, they are pulled up to you minus 2 levels. This is done so that you can easily return to already explored locations and earn experience there. But you will need experience, because leveling goes up to level 99, and after opening and maximizing all skills, you can invest points in skill levels, for example, increasing damage from swords or poison by 2% per level. But bosses and top mercenaries will always be either your level or slightly higher, so you won’t be able to defeat them in a hurry.

I also really liked the blacksmith’s engraving system. Once you receive unique weapon or you open a treasured chest in a secret place, you will be able to use a new engraving from there and apply it to any weapon. Thus, having found the trident of Poseidon (it’s not difficult) and received “water breathing” from it, you can easily apply this property to any weapon you like and explore the expanses of water without having to come up to breathe! And if you want to experiment, you can erase the already applied engraving and make a new one. In general, there is always something to do in the game and as a result, leveling up your character, weapons, and his ship does not stop until the end of the game. Having gone through most of the game, I haven’t cleared even half of the “questions” and haven’t found much else interesting. I specifically avoided reading articles indicating the location of interesting things, so as not to spoil the pleasure of the surprise if I found it.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is my personal virtual expedition V Ancient Greece. Yes, this is still a work of fiction with a lot of elements of fantasy and science fiction, but even this made me learn a little more about the history of Greece: more than what we were taught in a boring school, where we didn’t have educational films and such cool games. And all this virtual travel for only 800 rubles. It was in this game that I happily began using “photo mode,” which automatically uploads your screenshots to the servers and shares photos with the whole world.
When I write this text, it has already become known that the next part of Assassin's Creed will take place in the setting of Scandinavian countries and Vikings. I hope that this time they will make a belated but worthy answer to God of War (I predict that they will introduce the partner system in the game and will be returned co-op playthrough missions).
The only complaint is related to the technical part. The game has become more graphically heavier than the previous one and my old GTX 970 can no longer cope with 2K resolution, so I had to disable some of the effects and enable console 30fps, which, however, did not make the game worse, but even made the picture more cinematic.

It so happened that for 3 months now I have been “safely” using a very hit phone from Huawei from the line Honor 8X. I understand that this device was already a bestseller in 2018, and in 2019 Huawei continues to bombard users with a variety of devices like a machine gun, so I even stopped keeping track of it, because it’s very easy to get confused in the models. But my personal blog is not about reviews of modern devices, but about personal impressions, and I received them in full. I was prompted to write this text by a review by the respected blogger Exler.

I bought the phone officially from the only Russian online store, I took it as a new product. Naturally, I fell under the promotion and there for 18,000 rubles you could buy the phone itself and the Honor Band 3 fitness tracker (they really sold like hot cakes and the most popular blue color of the case was always out of stock). This is me now, after a whole 4 months, I see that this is not the most profitable purchase, because after the new year the prices for Honor 8X dropped to 14,000 rubles, but at that time it was quite a good offer. Oh, I didn’t know then what quest awaited me. In stores of large retail chains, this phone could be purchased for 2000 more and, of course, without a bracelet.
I registered on the site, gave Huawei a bunch of personal data (they now know more about me than the State Services website), paid with a card and waited. The phone was sent quickly - within a week. The courier, according to his courier tradition, warned about delivery 30 minutes before arriving home, so it was not me personally who received it. A few hours later I unpacked the parcel, but my joy lasted only 5 minutes - the phone turned out to be defective. Its body and screen were very bent. I contacted technical support and they helped me arrange a return and replacement. Do you think after 2 weeks I received my brand new phone and an apology from the company for the inconvenience caused and the defective product that was missed for sale? No, I already received my phone with a bent screen, a note from a “technical expert” that the phone was damaged, and technical support simply stopped responding to my emails and messages. Even leaving an angry review in Yandex.Market did not help. As you understand, I completely lost the warranty on the phone. Frightened by such impudence of a seemingly decent company (a market leader, for a moment), I put the phone on the shelf and it collected dust there for another month, while I decided what to do with it. Without coming up with anything and without suing the official Huawei store, I talked about this situation on the Internet (I even dissuaded someone there from buying). I myself I won't buy anything else from this store I don't recommend it to you either. Your purchase there is protected in the same way as from an unknown seller on Aliexpress, only it is cheaper to buy on Ali and the sellers there do not allow themselves to put clearly defective goods in a box, because you can easily pay for this with money and reputation on the site.

I won't talk about sad things. After the new year, I finally decided to start using this device and have never regretted it. Well, except for the external one in the form of a body broken in half, which is a drawback of my device. There was such a gap between the case and the back cover that dust immediately got in there, so I had no choice but to use a silicone case, which I usually try to avoid - my old Honor 5X phone with an aluminum cover is ideal in this regard. One case is included with the phone (the cheapest and ugliest, but it will do for the first time), but I ordered myself a slightly more decent silicone Makavo for 200 rubles. After a month of use, I can say that the case is decent, but it still gets dirty, it becomes unpleasant to touch, and my fingers begin to touch the edges. But the size was perfect. The use of a case is almost mandatory, so there is no point in the main design feature of the phone - a beautiful cover made of (supposedly) 35 layers of glass. Without a cover, this cover will instantly get stained with fingerprints and scratched, so believe me, you won't be enjoying it for very long. The factory protective film is already glued to the screen, and for this we could say thanks to Huawei, if not for the disgusting anti-oleophobic properties of this film - after a week it begins to collect grease.

However, even in a case the phone looks very nice and original. Yes, it certainly looks a little like the iPhone XS, especially with the bangs turned on, which, by the way, is turned on by default, and the first thing I did was remove it in the settings, leaving a black bar at the top. The phone has an unusual elongated screen and in general the screen is its main advantage. At first the screen looks unusual, but you quickly get used to its diagonal and reading texts on it becomes a pleasure. In general, the screen in Huawei 8X is beautiful and the fashionable “bezel-less” design is very much in the theme here. Not to say that I suffered much from having bezels before, but without bezels the phone is really beautiful. The phone has color correction, temperature adjustment and eye protection for the display, and unlike previous models, here these functions can actually be used and are useful. Personally, I turned on “eye protection” and the screen began to turn a little “yellow.” I got used to it quickly, now I don’t want to turn it off.

The rest of the device's hardware didn't disappoint either. A very powerful processor and video core that allows you to run mobile tanks at 60fps. I saw on YouTube how fast some new iPhone opens applications, and I won’t say that my 5 times cheaper phone does it slower. I took a phone in the minimum configuration with 64 GB of memory and 4 GB of RAM, but after using a budget phone for a long time, I don’t know what to do with such a massive amount of memory. This is really enough for everything, especially since I’m not a fan of 4K videos and toys. Huawei engineers were able to optimize the firmware for using the Kirin processor and the 3750 mAh battery lasts for 2 days without recharging in economical mode. This is the longest-lasting smartphone I've ever owned! If you constantly sit on your phone on the Internet and in social networks(the most used function for a smartphone by most people), then it lasts for 12 hours, and then the extreme saving mode turns on and the smartphone turns into a regular phone and can live for several more hours without leaving you without communication. Well, the cherry on the cake - there is NFC here! NFC is a wildly convenient thing and I was immediately convinced of this. I've set it up Google Play through virtual card Yandex, so I can pay in stores and public transport without any problems. Well, finally, in 2019, I don’t have to carry around a bunch of “changes for travel.” Unfortunately, this does not apply to minibuses - the owners there resist progress in order to evade taxes, but someday accounting and control will reach them, especially since our state has already taken a tough approach to all working citizens and sellers.
The device is running Android 8.2 and its own shell, which, although convenient, has a caveat - you cannot install other shells (or rather, you can install it, but be prepared for glitches). That is, Huawei programmers have integrated EMUI into Android so tightly that when installing other launchers, a lot of functions are disabled. And that is not all. The Chinese corporation Huawei is taking a course towards secrecy, so getting root on the device will not be very easy (you need to get some kind of code from the manufacturer, which is no longer issued). There is one more “ambush” for those who bought a phone in China with firmware for the Chinese market: it is impossible to install global firmware on such devices - you will not be able to install a security chip inside (you know how the Chinese government loves to monitor its citizens). Yes, such devices can still be taken out of the country and services from Google can be installed, but they will still remain “Chinese” in essence and, at a minimum, localization will suffer. Therefore, when purchasing any phone on AliExpress, be sure to inquire about the honest “global version” of the version of the device being sold. By the way, Chinese versions of Honor 8X were sold on Ali and they were without an NFC chip, because this technology is not used in China - the whole country there uses payment through QR codes.
The device implements an analogue of FaceID like the iPhone. The technology is cool, it really works, but even on the iPhone with its bunch of expensive sensors it fails, and here there will be more problems. But the technology really works quickly, although over these two years I’ve gotten used to unlocking using a fingerprint in the scanner on the back cover, and it can be done 2 times faster than with face recognition: you have to wait a second, then swipe across the screen.
I also liked that a bunch of sensors are constantly working in the device (including a microphone for voice control from Google) and this does not affect the performance or battery in any way. On the other hand, this device definitely constantly monitors you, using all the power of modern operating systems and sophisticated chips, and only Chinese programmers and Google know where the information accumulated about you is leaking and how it will be used (well, if only for advertising purposes).
Huawei promised to roll out an update to Android 9 Pie by the New Year, but, as it turned out, everything is not so simple. Beta versions of the firmware are already available and you can even sign up to test this firmware, but testers report problems with the device, glitches and battery leakage, which is the most unpleasant thing. It's a pity, because at 9 Android versions and EMUI have added a lot of new features such as gesture control. I think Android 9 will officially be released on my device by spring.
Overall, Honor 8X is an incredibly cool device, and now that its price has dropped to 15,000 rubles, it’s also a good buy. Yes, in this price range there are already a bunch of different budget devices, including from Huawei itself, but personally I would prefer a proven device from a renowned company than a typical budget device from Xiaomi or Meizu, which in six months will be left without support and will start to glitch and slow down, which often happens with phones from these manufacturers. I have never regretted that I bought this particular phone, but I regretted that I bought it from not entirely honest people from the official online store.

The Chinese browser, which allowed me to read text pages on the Internet relatively comfortably, has completely deteriorated in the new version. There, in addition to new functions, advertising appeared, but this is not the worst thing - it just stopped compressing traffic! And one fine day I came to work, loaded 2 pages and they happily gobbled up 40 MB of traffic with a limit of 70 MB per day. Thus, I instantly found myself without the Internet, turning it back on for 1 day cost me as much as 30 rubles. Naturally, after such a setup, UC Web was mercilessly removed from my smartphone, and I went to look for an alternative.

I didn’t want to return to Opera, mobile Firefox is also not a gift, but soon I found a browser from a Chinese developer that was suspiciously reminiscent of UC Web, only “lightweight” before the redesign - Via Browser. It does not have a compression proxy, like similar browsers, but it does not bother you with its advertising and allows you to flexibly configure the program by disabling the loading of pictures and reducing the page size to ridiculous numbers - about 100 KB per page with font support (this is convenient, so the design is on some sites does not spread). In addition, it allows you to change the User Agent and pretend to be a full-fledged browser or Nokia mobile browser. However, not all settings are conveniently located and you need to study the interface of this minimalistic browser a little before working.
As I noticed, this type of browser is most often programmed by the Chinese and they can be understood. Have you ever seen the Chinese Internet or mobile applications for the Chinese market? Sites covered with advertising, flickering and with a dozen pop-ups. Something similar to AliExpress only 10 times more colorful and annoying.
Overall, Via Browser is an excellent example of quality Chinese programming. A simple, convenient and very fast browser. I really hope he stays like this for a long time.

I decided to spend these New Year holidays with car games, for which I was looking at purchasing some well-known titles during the winter sale on Steam:

With the first two, everything is relatively clear: Assetto Corsa is a game from a small Italian studio that previously worked professionally racing simulators for sports teams. This game is essentially similar to DCS in the world of aviation simulators, with the only difference being that the guys from Assetto Corsa do not require licenses for the production of modules and missions and allow you to freely connect any plugins to your game, which is what the grateful community of simulator lovers enjoys. They became the standard for car simulators on PC like MS Flight Simulator in its time, with the only difference being that in Assetto Corsa? Unlike MSFS, there is an advanced physics engine for simulation and each machine is unique and requires mastering. I like this approach of the creators and I couldn’t help but support them with rubles, buying the Ultimate version on sale for 496 rubles (the regular version for 217 rubles is not worth taking, because the most interesting tracks and cars were cut out from there). The game does not shine with graphics, special effects and plot, but as you understand, this is not the reason for playing simulator games. The most full immersion The game is achieved when playing with a steering wheel, but I wouldn’t say that I was a breeze with my gamepad - control from a gamepad can be adjusted quite accurately, but it’s better not to play it with a keyboard at all if you don’t want to get upset.

A game Project CARS 2 is also very famous in its circles, loved by fans of virtual motor sports (competitions are held on it), but has not yet gotten rid of bugs. The basic version on Steam cost 659 rubles, but I decided that I had had enough of simulators and didn’t take it. And from the creators of Project CARS and my favorite series NFS Shift I'm waiting for the third part, which they promised to make exactly in the style of the Shift series of games.

Simulators are for the soul, you go into them as if you were going to work, but for entertainment, I decided to take arcade racing. The choice was between NFS Payback, caressed by the press and players and spat upon by everyone The Crew 2, which even some paid reviewers from YouTube did not dare to openly praise, and the most arrogant and unprincipled praised it, but it is clear that they did it reluctantly. Fortunately, I had previously managed to play NFS Payback (thanks to the pirates) and I deleted it with disappointment after 15 minutes of playing - I did not expect such disgusting physics, controls and races with scripted opponents. And this has happened to me with approximately all parts of NFS over the past 5 years - I stopped physically digesting them. I understand that EA also knows how to send suitcases of money to bloggers and take them on press tours, but I sincerely don’t understand why the game should be praised: for the fact that they didn’t make a complete waste of money like in the previous parts?
Thus, the choice fell on The Crew 2 and everything was against the purchase: public opinion, metacritic ratings, discreet articles in the gaming press, negative ratings on Steam... But I decided to take a risk, go against everyone and say that I was right! For your 659 rubles these are wonderful sports races in the open world (but the total cost of 2000 rubles is, to put it mildly, overpriced). Unlike most players, I had not seen the previous part at all, so I approached the game with low expectations, as a result of which it pleasantly surprised me. Yes, I am aware of the existence on PC of the most magnificent Forza Horizon 4, but even with a discount it costs 2,000 rubles, excluding DLC and, by the way, requires licensed Windows 10, because it works through the disgusting Windows Store. I got the game (Crew 2) six months after release, when the game added a lot of new cars, races and game modes like hovercraft or a special mode for monster trucks, so it was a sin to complain about the small amount of content. By the new year, Ubisoft had already corrected the most annoying bugs, changed the physics of the behavior of cars and AI bots several times (but my biggest complaint now is with the bots).

In short, I already got the game, if not in the form of candy, but clearly not that turd at release, when a lot of money was poured into marketing and Ubisoft was clearly betting on this game and was in a hurry to release it at the expense of quality. Most reviews on YouTube are related to old version games do not correspond to reality, and since then a lot of things have changed, but the game still has loyal fans. For example, one of the reviews says that boat racing is primitive and the player has no influence on anything, but in the video it is noticeable that the player did not even understand that the boat has the ability to raise and lower its bow. Personally, I even liked the aerial acrobatics and airplane racing, which everyone criticized for being unnecessary - again, people simply didn’t figure it out or, God forbid, tried to play them from the keyboard, and there was a hellish layout that a normal person couldn’t come up with.
Any vehicle in the game requires skill, the races are very difficult, and the bots do not forgive mistakes. Unlike NFS, where cornering by hitting the wall is the norm, here any collision (even one!) will lead to you losing. Cars have some kind of physics, unlike NFS, and cornering requires adherence to the speed limit and operation of the brake - careful driving here is rewarded with a podium. In addition, there are forks on the routes where you can take shortcuts, and this is not only welcome in the game, but is a necessity, because bots also actively use these forks. Don’t think that by leveling up your car with the help of “modules”, it will become easier for you to play - you can easily overtake NPCs on a straight line, but at the same time it will become more difficult for you to take turns, and as I already said, the bots here are very angry - not at all With one arcade game I didn't have to learn and memorize the tracks and sit with sweaty hands, afraid of making a mistake. Unfortunately, The Crew 2 borrowed from NFS Payback not only the leveling system, but such unpleasant moments as the complexity of the races and the obligatory need to upgrade the car - if the race level is higher than yours, then don’t even think about starting it, because it’s a guaranteed defeat. However, exceeding the level twice does not guarantee victory. Personally, I have several races that I could not complete at all, which does not speak about my skill level, but about the existing imbalance. I really hope that this difficulty level will be corrected with the upcoming patches.
The game, of course, is an arcade car simulator, but there is a surprisingly very advanced control setting in the form of disabling ABS and TC for all cars, as well as more careful wheel alignment settings for each specific car.

The game has a very fun way of upgrading vehicles using modules. What's wrong with this, you might say? And the fact that it is more like an action/RPG type Assassin's Creed Origins than a car arcade. That is, you have a regular green module, a blue one with magic, a purple one with two types of magic, and an epic gold one! You can put together an “epic set” and use gold modules to get more money, more rewards in the form of modules for the race, or to quickly accumulate nitro mixture, which is very important during races (especially on such clumsy cars as hovercrafts, where you can’t do without nitro). you can't go through one turn). Thus, not a single player’s car in the game is similar to the same one. The idea is good, but in fact you usually throw out a weak module and install it with cooler numbers to improve general level cars (the higher the current level, the more advanced parts drop as a reward for victory). Instead of experience points for the driver in the game, there are “subscribers”, the accumulation of which opens access to competitions, and after passing the “legend” level of fame, character leveling directly opens up as in regular RPGs: we add points and increase various parameters, for example, we speed up the acquisition of nitro mixture, increase income with racing and even improving grip - all this is also pumped up!
Naturally, the game has currency in the form of local bitcoins, which are spent only on the purchase of equipment and visual improvements (there are 87 types of disks in the game), modules like in Payback cannot be purchased - they drop only for victories in races and are found in “Live chests” in the open world. For first place in the race they pay 15,000-20,000, and decent examples of equipment such as boats, hypercars and airplanes cost from 500 thousand and millions for the top ones. Well, at least there is an incentive to go through the races again and save money for the cars you like. Naturally, you can speed up the leveling and get equipment for real money, but players are not forced to do this, at least I didn’t notice any oppression or pushing to “donate”, but apparently someone (quite crazy) pays, since Ubisoft introduced this function in all your games. Exclusive cars are available for season pass holders, but all competitions and new modes will be introduced free of charge for all players.
The game looks very good in the screenshots and videos, but I have a 2K monitor, so I had to lower the graphics slightly (no ultra settings for you) and turn on the console 30 fps lock (soap, nothing but soap). You can also enable 60 fps, but it’s clear that the game on my computer can’t cope with them and, without any warnings, begins to reduce the rendering distance and does not load textures. In addition, a huge open world naturally cannot be developed, even the masters of this matter from Rockstar spend years simulating a living world, so US cities in Crew 2 look like villages with boxes and a couple of tourist attractions (all with very mediocre textures, but you came for racing, not open world sandbox?). But periodically during night or evening races, the game pleases with beautiful shots and your fingers themselves reach out to turn on the photo mode, which is very advanced in the game and allows you to rewind time as you please. The best examples of such user creativity can be found directly from the game.
This game reminded me of the old ambitious, limitless and equally meaningless game Fuel, where you could drive for hours from one end of the map to the other and go through numerous races using various types of transport. But the ability to create your own races like in Fuel and go through them with friends is missing. I've already played this game for 30 hours, defeated 3 bosses, completed almost all the races on easy difficulty and had a lot of fun. For 659 rubles this great game, I advise you to buy, but for the full price of 2000 rubles this is a so-so purchase and it’s good that Ubisoft understands this, which is why they reduced the price so much for the New Year’s sale.
P.S.: The game has a lot of music for every taste - just press Y on the gamepad and switch the radio station.
P.P.S: Found it the only valid and truthful review of this game on Youtube from a person who really figured it out, and didn’t play 2-3 races.

If you encounter problems with Dragon Age: Inquisition, then this is the place for you, because here we will look at the solutions of the most common problems with the game and answer the players’ most pressing questions regarding

Dragon Age: Inquisition system requirements

We will often refer to problems with the system requirements of the game, so we bring them to the most prominent first place.

Official minimums system requirements games:

OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 (64-bit)
Processor (AMD): quad-core, 2.5 GHz
Processor (Intel): quad-core, 2 GHz
Memory: 4 GB
Video card (AMD): Radeon HD 4870
Video card (NVIDIA): GeForce 8800 GT
Video memory: 512 MB
Hard disk space: 26 GB
DirectX: 10

Disk load, SSD damage

As is known Dragon game Age: Inquisition uses Denuvo DRM encryption in its work. It is for this reason that it is highly undesirable to install the game on an SSD drive. The fact is that the lifespan of such a disk is measured by write/read cycles, and DRM in this regard makes the load 10,000 times greater than usual. Accordingly, playing Dragon Age: Inquisition on an SSD drive, you will kill it 10,000 times faster.

Is there a pirated version of the game?

On this moment(end of November 2014) pirates of Dragon Age: Inquisition no. This is directly related to DRM protection, which EA decided to use in the game in order to more successfully fight pirates. It is possible that a pirate will appear soon, but there are no prerequisites for this yet.

So if you want to play it, then either buy it on a PC or play on a console, where they successfully download images from torrents for freeboot systems.

Game won't install

1. Make sure there is enough space.

2. Go to the folder where the game was downloaded in Origin (you can see it in the program settings) and install all components from the _Installer folder.

3. Reinstall Origin.

Game won't start

You should come to this point if you get an error when starting Dragon Age: Inquisition or if nothing happens after starting.

1. Make sure you have a quad-core processor. These are the game's minimum system processor requirements.

Also, the game will not run on Windows XP and on a video card that does not support DirectX 10 (see game system requirements at the top of the page).

2. Reinstall the drivers for the video card

Install DirectX.

Install Microsoft VCR

Restart your computer.

3. If you made video card driver settings, reset them to default.

Before starting, turn off all resource-intensive programs.

Increase the sop file.

4. Check if there are any problems with the game files. .

4. If this does not help, reinstall Origin. There is no need to download Ira later, just specify the folder with the library.

5. Check for game update.

Dragon Age: Inquisition crashes

1. Update the game. Origin - My games - Dragon Age Inquisition- Right click on the game - Check for updates.

2. Check if there are any problems with the game files. Origin - My games - Dragon Age Inquisition - Right click on the game - Troubleshoot the game.

2. Install new drivers for the video card (Links at the bottom of the page)

3. Run the game as administrator.

4. Lower graphics settings.

Dragon Age: Inquisition slows down, low FPS

Let us immediately note that the game has a forced FPS limitation of 30 frames per second. To remove these restrictions, add launch options to the game shortcut:

-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

You can also try setting these parameters to Origin - My games - Dragon Age Inquisition - Right click on the game - Properties

Now that you have disabled restrictions and if suddenly you are still not satisfied with the game performance, then the following points will help you:

1. Lower the graphic settings in the game settings. The main thing is to turn off Post Processing.

2. Install new drivers for the video card (Link at the bottom of the page).

The new version of the drivers has optimized the game at the software graphics output level and therefore the game runs much faster.

3. Before starting, turn off all programs.

Check that there are no processes in the task manager that are loading the system.

5. It is possible that you have problems with the disk. Since the game runs on DRM encryption, a large number of disk operations are performed per unit of time. Your disk should be ready for this.

There is no sound in the Dragon Age: Inquisition cutscenes

Go to Control Panel Select a category Sound. Make sure your playback device settings are set to Stereo. Also go to the device properties and in the last tab select 24bit, 44100Hz.

Also, problems with sound in the game are solved by installing latest version drivers for sound card. This helps owners of Realtek cards.

The game doesn't recognize the mouse

If you have problems with the mouse in Dragon Age: Inquisition, go to Origin - Application Settings - Origin in the game, and uncheck it. The problem can also occur when using Fraps and other programs.

Doesn't connect to the server

Some players have an error " Sorry, there was an error. Failed to connect to EA servers ". Try waiting a few hours. If the connection still does not occur, reinstall Origin.

Alternatively, you can launch Origin in offline mode if you have already turned on the game before.

Gamepad not working in Dragon Age: Inquisition

By default, wireless controllers do not work in Dragon Age: Inquisition. So if you want to play a game on a controller, you need a wired one.

This is why controllers from gamers will not work XBOX One. It can also help you.

DirectX error in Dragon Age: Inquisition

If you get a DirectX error when starting the game or during gameplay, then do the following:

1. Lower graphics. It is best to reset to minimum and most importantly turn off the Post Processing option.

You can also manually correct this in the configuration file, which is located here C:\Users\USER\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save

If you are afraid that it will be ugly, try first setting the graphics settings to Auto detection.

2. Install DirectX, which is in the game folder.

Black screen in Dragon Age: Inquisition

If you experience a so-called black screen after the loading screen in Dragon Age: Inquisition, it means you are running the game on a computer with a dual-core processor. This is a common problem, and in order to solve it you need to have four cores on the processor.

If you play on Windows 8, try setting the compatibility mode to Windows 7.

Running the game in windowed mode helped some people.

Saving problem in Dragon Age Inquisition

If you get an error at the beginning of the game with the following message: “There is not enough space to save the game. Overwrite or delete old saves,” do the following:

1. Check the availability of free disk space.

Disable cloud storage of game data in Origin

Run as administrator.

2. If it doesn’t help, check for game updates and troubleshoot and fix problems with the game in Origin.

3. If 2 points did not help, reinstall Origin. The library of games will remain, don't worry.

Unfortunately, games have flaws: stutters, low FPS, crashes, freezes, bugs and other minor and not so minor errors. Often problems begin even before the game starts, when it does not install, does not load, or does not even download. And the computer itself sometimes does weird things, and then in Dragon Age: Origins there’s a black screen instead of a picture, the controls don’t work, you can’t hear the sound or anything else.

What to do first

  1. Download and run the world famous CCleaner(download via direct link) - this is a program that will clean your computer of unnecessary garbage, as a result of which the system will work faster after the first reboot;
  2. Update all drivers on the system using the program Driver Updater(download via direct link) - it will scan your computer and update all drivers to the latest version in 5 minutes;
  3. Install the program WinOptimizer(download via direct link) and include it in it Game Mode, which will end useless background processes while running games and improve in-game performance.

The second thing to do if you encounter any problems with Dragon Age: Origins is to check the system requirements. In a good way, you need to do this before purchasing, so as not to regret the money spent.

Dragon Age: Origins minimum system requirements:

Windows XP SP3, Intel Core 2 DUO, 1 Gb RAM, 20 Gb HDD, nVidia GeForce 6600 128 Mb

Every gamer should have at least a little understanding of components, know why a video card, processor and other things are needed in the system unit.

Files, drivers and libraries

Almost every device in a computer requires a set of special software. These are drivers, libraries and other files that ensure the correct operation of the computer.

You should start with the drivers for your video card. Modern graphic cards are produced only by two large companies - Nvidia and AMD. Having found out which product drives the coolers in the system unit, we go to the official website and download the latest driver package:

A prerequisite for the successful functioning of Dragon Age is the availability of the latest drivers for all devices in the system. Download the utility Driver Updater to easily and quickly download the latest drivers and install them with one click:

If Dragon Age: Origins does not start, we recommend that you try to disable your antivirus or put the game in the antivirus exceptions, and also check again for compliance with the system requirements, and if something from your build does not comply, then, if possible, improve your PC by purchasing more powerful components.

In Dragon Age, black screen, white screen, color screen. Solution

Problems with screens of different colors can be divided into 2 categories.

Firstly, they often involve using two video cards at once. For example, if your motherboard has a built-in video card, but you play on a discrete one, then Dragon Age: Origins may run for the first time on the built-in one, but you won’t see the game itself, because the monitor is connected to a discrete video card.

Secondly, color screens occur when there are problems with displaying images on the screen. This can happen for various reasons. For example, Dragon Age: Origins cannot work through an outdated driver or does not support the video card. Also black/ White screen may be displayed when running at resolutions that are not supported by the game.

Dragon Age: Origins crashes. At a specific or random moment. Solution

You play for yourself, play and then - bam! - everything goes out, and now you have a desktop in front of you without any hint of a game. Why is this happening? To solve the problem, you should try to figure out what the nature of the problem is.

If the departure occurs in random moment time without any pattern, then with a 99% probability we can say that this is a mistake in the game itself. In this case, it is very difficult to fix something, and the best thing to do is just put Dragon Age: Origins aside and wait for the patch.

However, if you know exactly at what moments the crash occurs, then you can continue the game, avoiding situations that provoke a crash.

However, if you know exactly at what moments the crash occurs, then you can continue the game, avoiding situations that provoke a crash. In addition, you can download the Dragon Age save and bypass the departure location.

Dragon Age freezes. The picture freezes. Solution

The situation is approximately the same as with crashes: many freezes are directly related to the game itself, or rather to the developer’s mistake when creating it. However, often a frozen picture can become a starting point for investigating the deplorable state of a video card or processor.

So if the picture freezes in Dragon Age: Origins, then use programs to display statistics on component loading. Perhaps your video card has long exhausted its working life or the processor is heating up to dangerous temperatures?

The easiest way to check the load and temperatures for the video card and processors is in the MSI Afterburner program. If you wish, you can even display these and many other parameters on top of the Dragon Age picture.

What temperatures are dangerous? Processors and video cards have different operating temperatures. For video cards they are usually 60-80 degrees Celsius. For processors it is slightly lower - 40-70 degrees. If the processor temperature is higher, then you should check the condition of the thermal paste. It may have already dried out and needs to be replaced.

If the video card is heating up, then you should use a driver or an official utility from the manufacturer. It is necessary to increase the number of revolutions of the coolers and check whether the operating temperature decreases.

Dragon Age: Origins is slow. Low FPS. Frame rate drops. Solution

If there are slowdowns and low frame rates in Dragon Age, the first thing to do is lower the graphics settings. Of course, there are many of them, so before reducing everything, it’s worth finding out exactly how certain settings affect performance.

Screen resolution. In short, this is the number of points that make up the game picture. The higher the resolution, the higher the load on the video card. However, the increase in load is insignificant, so you should reduce the screen resolution only as a last resort, when everything else no longer helps.

Texture quality. Typically, this setting determines the resolution of texture files. The texture quality should be reduced if the video card has a small amount of video memory (less than 4 GB) or if you are using a very old hard drive with a spindle speed of less than 7200.

Model quality(sometimes just detailing). This setting determines which set of 3D models will be used in the game. The higher the quality, the more polygons. Accordingly, high-poly models require more processing power from the video card (not to be confused with the amount of video memory!), which means this parameter should be reduced on video cards with low core or memory frequencies.

Shadows. They are implemented in different ways. In some games, shadows are created dynamically, that is, they are calculated in real time at every second of the game. Such dynamic shadows load both the processor and the video card. For optimization purposes, developers often abandon full rendering and add pre-rendered shadows to the game. They are static, because essentially they are just textures overlaid on top of the main textures, which means they load memory, and not the video card core.

Often developers add additional settings related to shadows:

  • Shadow Resolution - Determines how detailed the shadow cast by an object will be. If the game has dynamic shadows, it loads the video card core, and if a pre-created render is used, then it “eats” the video memory.
  • Soft shadows - smooths out unevenness in the shadows themselves, usually this option is given along with dynamic shadows. Regardless of the type of shadows, it loads the video card in real time.

Smoothing. Allows you to get rid of ugly corners on the edges of objects through the use of a special algorithm, the essence of which usually comes down to generating several images at once and comparing them, calculating the most “smooth” picture. There are many different anti-aliasing algorithms that differ in their level of impact on the performance of Dragon Age: Origins.

For example, MSAA works head-on, creating 2, 4 or 8 renders at once, so the frame rate is reduced by 2, 4 or 8 times, respectively. Algorithms like FXAA and TAA work a little differently, achieving a smooth image by calculating only the edges and using some other tricks. Thanks to this, they do not reduce performance as much.

Lighting. As with anti-aliasing, there are different algorithms for lighting effects: SSAO, HBAO, HDAO. They all use video card resources, but they do it differently depending on the video card itself. The fact is that the HBAO algorithm was promoted mainly on video cards from Nvidia (GeForce line), so it works best on “green” ones. HDAO, on the contrary, is optimized for video cards from AMD. SSAO is the simplest type of lighting; it consumes the least resources, so if it's slow in Dragon Age: Origins, it's worth switching to it.

What to reduce first? Shadows, anti-aliasing and lighting effects tend to take the most work, so these are the best places to start.

Gamers often have to optimize Dragon Age: Origins themselves. Almost all major releases have various related forums where users share their ways to improve productivity.

One of them is a special program called WinOptimizer. It is made specifically for those who do not want to manually clean their computer of various temporary files, delete unnecessary registry entries and edit the startup list. WinOptimizer will do this itself and also analyze your computer to identify ways to improve performance in applications and games.

Dragon Age: Origins lags. Large delay when playing. Solution

Many people confuse “brakes” with “lags,” but these problems have completely different causes. Dragon Age slows down when the frame rate at which the image is displayed on the monitor decreases, and lags when the delay when accessing the server or any other host is too high.

That is why “lags” can only occur in online games. The reasons are different: bad network code, physical distance from servers, network congestion, incorrectly configured router, low Internet connection speed.

However, the latter happens least often. In online games, communication between client and server occurs through the exchange of relatively short messages, so even 10 MB per second should be enough.

There is no sound in Dragon Age. Can not hear anything. Solution

Dragon Age: Origins works, but for some reason does not sound - this is another problem that gamers face. Of course, you can play like this, but it’s still better to figure out what’s going on.

First you need to determine the scale of the problem. Where exactly is there no sound - only in the game or even on the computer? If only in a game, then perhaps this is due to the fact that the sound card is very old and does not support DirectX.

If there is no sound at all, then the problem is definitely in the computer settings. Perhaps the sound card drivers are installed incorrectly, or maybe there is no sound due to some specific error in our beloved Windows OS.

Controls don't work in Dragon Age. Dragon Age: Origins does not recognize mouse, keyboard or gamepad. Solution

How to play if it is impossible to control the process? Problems with supporting specific devices are inappropriate here, because we are talking about familiar devices - a keyboard, mouse and controller.

Thus, errors in the game itself are practically excluded; the problem is almost always on the user's side. You can solve it in different ways, but, one way or another, you will have to contact the driver. Usually, when you connect a new device, the operating system immediately tries to use one of the standard drivers, but some models of keyboards, mice and gamepads are incompatible with them.

Thus, you need to find out the exact model of the device and try to find its driver. Devices from well-known gaming brands often come with their own software packages, since the standard Windows driver simply cannot ensure the correct operation of all functions of a particular device.

If you don’t want to search for drivers for all devices separately, you can use the program Driver Updater. It is designed to automatically search for drivers, so you only need to wait for the scan results and download the necessary drivers in the program interface.

Sometimes Dragon Age slowdowns can be caused by viruses. In this case, it makes no difference how powerful the video card is in the system unit. You can scan your computer and clean it of viruses and other unwanted software using special programs. For example NOD32. The antivirus has proven itself to be the best and has been approved by millions of users around the world.

ZoneAlarm is suitable for both personal use and small businesses, capable of protecting a computer running Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP from any attacks: phishing, viruses, malware, spyware and other cyber threats . New users are given a 30-day free trial.

Nod32 is an antivirus from ESET, which has received many awards for its contribution to security development. Versions of anti-virus programs are available on the developer’s website for both PCs and mobile devices; a 30-day trial version is provided. There are special conditions for business.

Dragon Age: Origins downloaded from a torrent does not work. Solution

If the game distribution was downloaded via torrent, then in principle there can be no guarantees of operation. Torrents and repacks are almost never updated through official applications and do not work over the network, because in the process of hacking, hackers cut out all network functions from games, which are often used to verify the license.

Using such versions of games is not only inconvenient, but even dangerous, because very often many files in them have been changed. For example, to bypass protection, pirates modify the EXE file. At the same time, no one knows what else they do with it. Perhaps they embed self-executing software. For example, when the game is first launched, it will integrate into the system and use its resources to ensure the well-being of hackers. Or, giving access to the computer to third parties. There are no guarantees here and cannot be.

In addition, the use of pirated versions is, in the opinion of our publication, theft. The developers spent a lot of time creating the game, investing their own money in the hope that their brainchild would pay off. And every work must be paid.

Therefore, if any problems arise with games downloaded from torrents or hacked using one or another means, you should immediately remove the pirated version, clean your computer with an antivirus and a licensed copy of the game. This will not only protect you from dubious software, but will also allow you to download updates for the game and receive official support from its creators.

(game) gives an error about the missing DLL file. Solution

As a rule, problems associated with the absence of DLLs arise during game startup, but sometimes the game can access certain DLLs during the process and, not finding them, crash in the most blatant manner.

To fix this error, you need to find the required DLL and install it on the system. The easiest way to do this is using the program DLL-fixer, which scans the system and helps quickly find missing libraries.

If your problem turns out to be more specific or the method outlined in this article did not help, then you can ask other users in our “” section. They will help you quickly!

Thank you for your attention!

If you are faced with the fact that Dragon Age: Origins slows down, crashes, Dragon Age: Origins does not start, Dragon Age: Origins does not install, controls do not work in Dragon Age: Origins, there is no sound, errors pop up, Dragon Age: Origins does not saves work - we offer you the most common ways to solve these problems.

First, check whether your PC's specifications meet the minimum system requirements:

  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) 1.4GHz or higher / AMD X2 (or equivalent) 1.8GHz or higher
  • Memory: 1GB and above
  • Video card: nVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB / ATI Radeon X850 128MB
  • Free space on HDD: 20GB

Be sure to update your video card drivers and other software

Before you remember the worst words and express them towards the developers, do not forget to go to the official website of the manufacturer of your video card and download the latest drivers. Often, drivers specially optimized for them are prepared for the release of games. You can also try installing a later version of drivers if the problem is not solved by installing the current version.

It is important to remember that you should only download the final versions of video cards - try not to use beta versions, as they may have a large number of unfound and unfixed errors.

Do not forget that for stable operation of games, installation of the latest version of DirectX is often required, which can always be downloaded from the official Microsoft website.

Dragon Age: Origins won't launch

Many problems with launching games occur due to incorrect installation. Check if there were any errors during installation, try uninstalling the game and running the installer again, after disabling the antivirus - often files necessary for the game to work are deleted by mistake. It is also important to remember that in the path to the folder with installed game There should be no Cyrillic characters - use only Latin letters and numbers for catalog names.

It also doesn’t hurt to check if there is enough space on the HDD for installation. You can try to run the game as Administrator in compatibility mode different versions Windows.

Dragon Age: Origins is slow. Low FPS. Lags. Friezes. Freezes

First, install the latest drivers for your video card; this can significantly increase the FPS in the game. Also check your computer's load in the task manager (opened by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE). If before starting the game you see that some process is consuming too many resources, turn off its program or simply end this process from the task manager.

Next, go to the graphics settings in the game. First of all, turn off anti-aliasing and try lowering the post-processing settings. Many of them consume a lot of resources and disabling them will significantly improve performance without significantly affecting the picture quality.

Dragon Age: Origins crashes on desktop

If Dragon Age: Origins often crashes on your desktop slot, try to start solving the problem by reducing the quality of the graphics. It is possible that your computer simply does not have enough performance and the game cannot run correctly. It's also worth checking for updates - most modern games have a system for automatically installing new patches. Check if this option is disabled in the settings.

Black screen in Dragon Age: Origins

More often than not, the problem with a black screen is an issue with the GPU. Check if your video card is compatible minimum requirements and install the latest drivers. Sometimes a black screen is a result of insufficient CPU performance.

If everything is fine with the hardware and it meets the minimum requirements, try switching to another window (ALT+TAB), and then returning to the game window.

Dragon Age: Origins won't install. Installation stuck

First of all, check if you have enough HDD space for installation. Remember that for the installation program to work correctly, the stated amount of space is required, plus 1-2 gigabytes of free space on the system disk. In general, remember the rule - there should always be at least 2 gigabytes of free space on the system disk for temporary files. Otherwise, both games and programs may not work correctly or may refuse to start at all.

Installation problems can also occur due to a lack of Internet connection or unstable operation. Also, do not forget to pause the antivirus while installing the game - sometimes it interferes with the correct copying of files or deletes them by mistake, considering them viruses.

Saves not working in Dragon Age: Origins

By analogy with the previous solution, check the availability of free space on the HDD - both on the one where the game is installed and on the system drive. Often save files are stored in a documents folder, which is located separately from the game itself.

Controls not working in Dragon Age: Origins

Sometimes game controls do not work due to multiple input devices being connected at the same time. Try disabling the gamepad or, if for some reason you have two keyboards or mice connected, leave only one pair of devices. If your gamepad does not work, then remember - games are officially supported only by controllers defined as Xbox joysticks. If your controller is detected differently, try using programs that emulate Xbox joysticks (for example, x360ce).

Sound not working in Dragon Age: Origins
