Update 9.22 comes out on February 6th, and it's truly tanky. Ahead major changes USSR vehicles: rebalance of the medium tank branch, new heavy tanks, alternative tank destroyer branch. We will also see improvements to the balancer, and a little later - new season ranked battles.

Improvements to the template balancer

Now types of battles (“Standard battle”, “Assault”, “Encounter battle”, “ General battle") selected by you will fall out more evenly and balanced. When choosing a battle type, the history of your previous battles will be taken into account. The general battle will not appear several times in a row.

Mechanism for changing appearance

1. On the bottom panel for changing the appearance, an “on equipment” icon has appeared for those elements that are applied to the vehicle.
2. The clickable area on the placement points of emblems and inscriptions has been increased.
3. When purchasing appearance items, the text “Buy and Exit” will be displayed. If you are not purchasing items but simply replacing them with existing ones, the text “Apply and Exit” will appear.

Changes to Ranked Battles

The new season of Ranked Battles will start a little later than the release of update 9.22. The start of the season will be announced separately.

The season now lasts 21 days and is not divided into stages
The number of ranks has been increased from 5 to 15.
The conditions for obtaining chevrons have been reworked:
- The top 10 players on the winning team and the player ranked first in experience on the losing team will receive one chevron.
- The top 3 players of the winning team receive an additional chevron.
- Players who took 11th–15th places in the winning team and 2nd–5th places in the losing team retain the chevron.
- Players who took 6th–15th places in the losing team lose their chevron.

A new feature has been added - rank protection. Some ranks will be protected, which will have durability points.
The home screen interface of the Ranked Battle mode has been redesigned to correctly display information about fifteen ranks.
The interface of the rewards screen for ranks and for the entire season has been redesigned. It is now accessible from the home screen and includes:
- information about rewards for each rank;
- information about rewards at the end of the season.

The visualization of vehicle ranks has been changed - now these are rank points. The principle of earning rank points has not changed.
The display of vehicle ranks from the vehicle panel has been removed, and in vehicle achievements they have been replaced with rank points.
The interface for progressing by vehicle ranks has been redesigned: now, when you reach the maximum rank, you will see the number of rank points earned in the Hangar.
The interface of the leaderboard in the Ranked Battle mode has been redesigned.

The new season of ranked battles will begin a little later than the release of version 9.22. The start of the season will be announced separately.

"Fortified area"
In sorties and offensives, the room commander has added the ability to transfer the right to use combat reserves (Airstrike and Artillery Shelling) to any player in the squad, including legionnaires. This player becomes the gunner and operates these reserves in battle.

Approximately every two to three months Wargaming releases new patch to World of Tanks. Latest on this moment(September 2014) update 9.2 was released on July 29, 2014. Less than two months have passed since Wargaming prepared a new patch 9.3. Testing of update 9.3 is in full swing. Strictly speaking, there are two ways to update the World of Tanks game:

  • through the game launcher;
  • using a special file client.patch.download.

Let's look at both methods and decide how best to update the game.

True, for starters, it’s worth saying that all updates must be downloaded only from the official website of the game http://worldoftanks.ru. By downloading patches from other sites or torrents, you expose your game account the risk of being “hijacked”. A few patches ago, the game was updated in another way: the patch was downloaded as a regular exe file and installed on top of the client. Wargaming abandoned this method of updating, since subsequent conversion game files took a huge amount of time, and after installing the exe, the game client often crashed.

So, if a new patch has been released, you can update the client as follows: launch the game launcher and wait until the files are downloaded.

The launcher will automatically download all the necessary files and install the update.

The volume of updates can reach three gigabytes. So, if you have a slow Internet connection, downloading updates for the game will take longer. In this case, you have a choice: directly download the files of the new patch from the Wargaming server or use a torrent to update.

Another way to update the game client is as follows: you download a special file in the format “patch name_client.patch.download” and copy it to a special folder in the game client. After downloading the client.patch.download file, you need to copy it to the Updates directory, which is located in the path C:/Games/World_of_Tanks. After this, you need to launch the game launcher, and the updates will be automatically installed.

The answer to the question of how to update WoT has been received. There are a few left to remember useful tips. When updating the game client, it is better to disable the firewall and antivirus, as well as all programs that consume the Internet in “unlimited quantities” - torrent clients and downloaders. The fewer programs load the Internet channel, the faster you will update the client. As for the installation time of new updates, it all depends on their volume and the hardware of your computer. Sometimes the installation can take up to half an hour.

1. Added personal reserves to accelerate development on the “Front Line”:
- Within general test a new type of personal reserves has been added that increase the amount of frontline experience for ranks received in battles in the “Frontline” mode.
- Reserve: +100% to frontline experience per battle for 1 hour.
For example, having earned the title “General” in battle, you will receive 2400 frontline experience instead of the base 1200.

- In the in-game store of the general test client, personal reserves are available for purchase for in-game gold (Store ==> Maintenance ==> Personal reserves).

Damage to allies from shots and rams has been disabled for all types of Random Battles, including General Battles.

. The mechanism for interaction of high-explosive fragmentation shells of self-propelled guns with allied guns has been reworked.

Tank premium account.

The logic for calculating a controlled bonus to experience for tank premium has been reworked. Now additional experience will be awarded to the crew according to the same rules as it is awarded for a battle:
a) If the accelerated crew training checkbox is not turned on before the start of the battle (or is missing), then part of the experience goes to the crew, the rest is credited to the equipment.
b) If the accelerated crew training checkbox is enabled, then all experience is distributed among the crew.
. The conditions under which the bonus can be applied have been changed (all of the following must be met):
c) Last victorious battle on the selected vehicle.
d) This vehicle is in the Hangar (not sold, lease not completed, etc.)
e) The full crew on which this battle took place sits.

On the Malinovka map, the detection point was balanced: trees that interfered with reconnaissance from the positions of the northern team were removed.

Changes to wheeled vehicles.

Engine mode settings have been optimized.
a) When switching driving modes, wheeled vehicles will no longer lose engine traction. This is especially true when switching the driving mode from maneuverable to high-speed. With this shift, there will no longer be any slowdown before acceleration. Now in such cases the car will simply begin to accelerate to a higher speed.
. When changing the driving modes of wheeled vehicles, the wheels now rise and fall more realistically.
. The motion physics settings have been optimized.
b) When wheeled vehicles collide with obstacles, in some cases it will become easier to regain control of the trajectory.

Added the ability to disable the speedometer of wheeled vehicles through the game client settings. The indication of driving modes is duplicated on the damage panel.

The World of Tanks developers have a lot of plans for the upcoming 2018. The next one is the release of update 9.22 World of Tanks. The main emphasis in it is on Soviet technology. The PT, ST and TT branches are changing dramatically.

Release date - updates 1.5

General test of update 9.22

The release of the general test of update 9.22 is scheduled for February 2018.

Due to numerous requests from players, the branch of Soviet tank tanks with a rear wheelhouse will be reworked. Of course, the main prize here is the Object 263 - a powerful and interesting machine, however, the branch itself as a whole is problematic and unplayable. Therefore, the developers have planned the following changes:

  • SU-101 and SU-101M1 remain in place, however, they will be modernized.
  • SU-122-54 will disappear from the upgradeable branch. This vehicle does not correspond to the logic of the branch's development, having a standard wheelhouse layout, weak armor and a relatively low amount of XP. Due to these design features, the car could not compete on equal terms with most of its classmates.
  • Object 263 “moves” to the 9th level.
  • Object 268 Option 4 – will be a new top.

Changes are also planned for the medium tank branch. In particular, the game will develop 3 branches with unique gameplay and combat characteristics:


Good news awaits fans of Soviet heavyweights as well. Starting from the KV-13, an additional line will be developed heavy tanks with the turret located aft. Three fundamentally new vehicles will appear here: IS-2Sh, Object 705 and Object 705A.


In many characteristics, these vehicles are reminiscent of the legendary IS-7, but offer fundamentally new gameplay.

New premium tanks

The developers plan to carry out large-scale work on premium tanks with a reduced level of combat. Often beneficiaries are unable to equally oppose their classmates. This is due to the fact that the upgraded equipment is regularly improved, but the characteristics of premium tanks do not change. This problem requires a comprehensive solution, however, it needs to be implemented gradually to avoid imbalance in the game.

Game modes

New ones will be added to the game game modes, which will help make the gameplay more vivid and rich. In addition, changes are expected in the ranked battles that many people like. There will be some rework here game mechanics, which will allow for healthy competition at key stages. In particular:

  • Chevrons will be awarded to players of both teams, however, the winners will receive more chevrons.
  • The ranking system will be increased, but will retain the general concept of the second season.
  • Received ranks will now be retained even after unsuccessful battles, but players will have to defend their current status on the battlefield.
  • The duration of the stages will be increased, therefore, you will not have to sit at the computer all day to achieve certain results. This decision is aimed at player efficiency.

In addition to the above changes, other improvements are planned for the game, changes in development branches and much more.

How will coupons be earned?

New options for obtaining alternative game currency are planned. Currently, bonds are awarded for epic rewards and achievements obtained while playing on level 9-10 vehicles. In addition, you can earn currency in the general battle mode and in global map. However, keeping in mind their promises, the developers have planned several additional ways to get hold of bonds, and are considering the possibility of spending them on purchasing equipment and modifying the appearance of cars.

Events

In 2018, new atmospheric events similar to New Year's Offensive and Leviathan Invasion will appear in World of Tanks. A more extensive list of available rewards will be implemented here, including the opportunity to receive bonds for certain achievements. The British branch of tank destroyers with fixed wheelhouses was not popular due to armor vulnerabilities. In update 9.21, we will improve their frontal and side armor, thanks to which they will be able to take their place among assault tank destroyers. These changes should strengthen their role as fire support vehicles that can block damage and grind down the enemy thanks to their high rate of fire.
New British car at level X: .

Not very well suited for the role of an assault vehicle capable of close combat. But this role should have become a distinctive feature of the branch, especially after the rework. To game process British tank destroyer was consistent for the entire branch, we replaced the “bumper” with the FV217 Badger. The newcomer will inherit everything from his predecessors distinctive features, but will have higher firepower and armor, offering a unique gaming experience at level X.

If you have already purchased the FV215b (183), then with the release of update 9.21 you will keep it and will be transferred to the special vehicles category. You'll also get Badger for free.

New heavy tanks of France

The new branch of French heavy tanks will start with the vehicle. Each newcomer will have a choice of two top guns: the first with higher damage per shot, and the second with a higher rate of fire, which will allow players to abandon the “shoot and hide” tactics that were often imposed on the French heavy tank game. But that's not all: the new trinity is distinguished by decent thickness of the frontal armor of the hull and turret. An excellent gun depression angle and a decent margin of safety will allow you to stay alive in the heat of battle, as well as contribute to the team’s victory.

This new arena was created specifically for the General Battle type of battle, and also features standard and counter battles. This card will transfer tank battles to North America and will immerse you in the atmosphere of stories about the gold rush in Alaska and the Yukon. New mechanics for changing appearance

As you already know, during 2018 we will rework the mechanics of changing the appearance of vehicles into a more complex system, which will allow you to give your car a unique style. Update 9.21 lays the foundation for this by adding styles and designating areas of the car that you can change yourself. Now you can separately paint the hull, turret, gun, chassis and gun mantlet, choose the size of camouflage and give your vehicle a unique look appearance using various effects.
