Why Warface stops working and how to fix it. Crashes and game problems - we solve them. Black screen in Warface

All fans of online shooters, and Warface in particular, may find our article useful, where we will look at the causes of many errors encountered by players. Why does Warface crash? Why is the game low FPS? Why does the game lag? We will try to answer all these questions below.

Mini-review of Warface

After the announcement from the Crytek studio, known for the Crysis shooter series, all players were expecting Warface with particular enthusiasm. Expectations were justified, because the game turned out to be worthwhile. Perhaps beautiful graphics will not be any revelation for Crytek, which uses its powerful CryEngine engine in all its titles. In general, the picture, shadows, special effects, physics - everything is excellent (at least for the standards of MMO shooters). The game also has a good co-op, where you and your friends can go through a couple of fun and invigorating missions. But, of course, the most important asset of Warface is its multiplayer, which largely copies the Battlefield multiplayer mode. The game boasts laconic and small maps, where quite dynamic battles often take place. The maps themselves are different from each other, and therefore will not let the player get bored, “blurring” the eyes with the same type of landscapes. There are also a number of modes, among which there are both classic and innovative for the genre. There are 4 classes available for each gamer: “stormtrooper”, “sniper”, “medic” and “engineer”. As expected, you will gradually gain experience points, which you can spend on various useful in-game features.

Common errors in Warface

Why does Warface crash? Like any other game, ours is not without frequent errors that can interfere with the enjoyment of the process. First, let's look at the most common errors in Warface, and also indicate ways to solve them. So, let's open the list:

  • Sometimes an error may appear in the Game Center informing you that "Authorization service unavailable". What to do? This happens if a limit on the simultaneous connection of online users was enabled due to server overload. In this situation, you just need to wait a little and then try again.
  • Sometimes Warface may crash if you have Fraps, Avast antivirus or Comodo firewall enabled. Try disabling them, and if that doesn’t help, remove them from your computer.
  • If the game does not start at all, showing “zero reaction”, then you should follow the standard procedures: update the DirectX libraries and video card drivers, remove Russian letters from the game path (for example, the following path would be an erroneous option: D:\My games\game name; correct - D:\My games\game_name), try various compatibility modes (XP SP3, Vista, 7) or run as Administrator.
  • If an error occurs "Failed to initialize the GameStartup Interface"(usually for Windows XP owners), then follow the algorithm: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Games\Warface, where to find and delete the game.cfg file.
  • Why does Warface crash with an error stating that video card is not supported? If you suddenly encounter such an error, you will have to check your PC for compliance minimum requirements. If everything is ok, then try
  • After installing Game Center, the client does not load and the following message appears: "Waiting for distribution to become available". What to do? If you encounter this error, try restarting the CI and make sure there are no file download blockers (for example, a firewall). If the error persists, then you need to make sure that the p2p protocol is allowed for your network.

Why does Warface crash on startup?

Such errors usually occur due to a glitch or incompatibility of your software. So, let's look at these errors:

  • Crashes when entering the game error about game version mismatch. If you encounter the same problem, update your CI.
  • with TeamSpeak-3 enabled. In this case, you should disable the Overlay plugin in TS.
  • Why does Warface constantly crash? an empty error (an empty window without a description of the problem) and an "Accept" button? In this case, you need to make sure that ports 5222, 60000-65000 TCP are available.
  • The launch is accompanied by an “eternal loading” of Warface. with "crash"? There is one answer to both of these mistakes. First, you need to make sure that your Internet connection is stable and that there is no proxy. If you are using a router, try disabling the integrated firewall, and for owners of D-Link routers, you will have to update the firmware to the latest one and enable DMZ.

Other errors

  • When unpacking the archive with the game, an error appears "The files are damaged". Check your PC for viruses, then disable the antivirus (after cleaning, if necessary). Check your internet connection when downloading the game.
  • Textures disappear. The reason for this may be a weak video card (try updating the drivers) or insufficient RAM
  • It twitches during the game. This problem can be solved in several ways:
  1. Start => Control Panel => Mouse => “Pointer Options”, where you need to uncheck the “Enable increased pointer precision” menu item.
  2. If you play on a laptop, try disabling the touchpad.
  3. Disconnect other controllers from your PC (joysticks, gamepads, etc.).

This concludes the list of errors. If your problems with the game have not been resolved, and errors persistently haunt you with each new login, then try contacting technical support or the user forum, where perhaps someone has already encountered your problem and solved it.

Finally

All fans of free multiplayer battles should definitely enjoy Warface, because such games are rarely offered for free. Of course, like any other project, Warface sometimes annoys players with errors, and therefore if you have the following questions: “Why does Warface crash? Why does Warface glitch?” - then you will have to wait for patches, try to solve the problem personally (using our advice, for example) or contact technical support. However, you simply can’t ignore Warface - it’s too good.

Work is work, but I also like to relax and play. I won’t say that I’m an avid gamer and it usually lasts me for a day or two. However, a couple of months ago I found a good shooting game, in some ways similar to Counter-Strike. Called WarFace. I was playing and everything would be fine, but suddenly crashes began to occur during the game, namely during missions the client lost the connection to the server, which was reported by three monitors with a red cross between them...

The most interesting thing was that I was thrown into the game menu, and not from it, and I could immediately connect to the game again, although losing all the accumulated points and frags.

I was guilty of a bad connection, however ping, tracert And speedtest They assured me that everything was OK with the connection. I scored on WarFace for a couple of days, in the hope that it would go away on its own or the developers would tweak the servers, but when I returned, the problems did not disappear.

After spending some time Googling, I suddenly thought, maybe the problem is with the wifi router?

Here it should be noted that two communication channels are connected to my PC, the first 1 Gbit/s channel directly to the server, second 100 Mbit/s to a wifi router, which in turn is connected to a server (and the server already acts as a gateway).

So, having checked tracert I discovered that the packets actually go through the router. Well, the channel through the router is only needed so that I can log into its control panel, so by turning it off I won’t lose anything. No sooner said than done. I check the trace to the game servers again (or to the website, it doesn’t matter):

tracert wf.mail.ru

tracert wf. mail. ru

and made sure that now the packets go through the channel that goes directly to the server, bypassing the router. I launch the game and the lags disappear!!!

That's the news, the premonition did not disappoint. Now googling the keyword " warface router setup", I ended up in a forum thread: "Solving the problem with crashes" there they advise adding your IP to the DMZ:

I looked in my firmware DD-WRT, there is also a similar thing:

I don’t know how effective this solution is - I didn’t bother with it, I was happy with the method in which I simply disconnect the interface to the router.

I made this decision because... I don't have a router Dlink, A LinkSys, accordingly, the reason may be something else, but there is no time for testing yet..

Of course, you can also register the IP of the servers so that the packets go through the desired subnet (for this you can use the command route), but I'm too lazy for now :)

CONCLUSION: If you have the same problems and the Internet comes to you through a wi-fi router and not through a wire, the first thing I advise you to check is how much the picture will change when connected directly with a wire, without a router.

If this did not help you and you solved the problem in another way, write about it in the comments and help others!

Visual diagram of what I did:

Green and blue are wires. Those. two channels were connected to the PC, through which you can receive the same Internet from the server.

When downloading, a message appears stating that “the files are damaged” or “waiting for distribution availability” or the download simply freezes at a certain point:

Check your Internet connection and whether antivirus software is blocking downloads from mail.ru servers.

If any of the above errors occur, restart the game center and start downloading again. Also check in advance whether there is free space on your computer’s hard drive.

If you downloaded Warface from a torrent, or copied it from a friend, and the game center requires you to install the game, check that the path specified in the settings to your downloaded distribution is correct.

This happens when you reboot game servers, as well as with unstable Internet. You should wait and try again later.

Problem with downloading:

check if the game distribution is correct. It should only be downloaded using the official loader, also called the game center. Download it.

Starting the game

If warface does not start for you, there may be several reasons, and almost everything can be solved.

What to do first:

  • Reinstall or update directX to the latest version
  • update drivers - for processor, motherboard, video card.
  • For video cards from Nvidia - update or install the Physics-X application.
  • Check that the installed client path is correct. The path must be written in Latin characters, Cyrillic is not recommended.
  • In the properties of the Warface shortcut, try different launch modes (run as administrator, etc.)

Error Failed to initialize the GameStartup Interface (it is not possible to initialize the game interface)

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Games\Warface
and delete the game.cfg file. Completely close the game client and start again.

Game version mismatch - restart Game Center and let it update.

When you enter the game, an empty window opens with an “accept” button - check ports 5222 and 60000 - they should be available. Try turning off all other running programs, perhaps they are occupying the necessary ports.

The video card is not supported - check if all hardware meets the minimum configuration?

It crashes immediately after launch - check your Internet connection, you should not use a proxy server, if you have one - disable and restart warface.

Problems while playing

The "warface" program has stopped working - the game crashes to the desktop.

try deleting the ModelsCache folder from the profile folder of the game client.

To do this, follow these steps:
- press win+r;
- enter the path* to the Warface profile folder and press Enter;
- completely delete the ModelsCache folder.

After deleting the folder, launch the game again.

Textures disappear or glitch:

Update the drivers for your video card, set all settings to minimum and gradually increase until glitches appear.

Also, the cause of glitchy textures may be CATALYST Control Center from Radeon. Go to settings and disable everything related to graphics modification in applications.

Also, do not forget to check the temperature of the processor and video card, for example with the hwmonitor program.

The connection to the server is lost - the Internet has dropped out, or if the error is repeated constantly - your router (modem) is faulty. The firmware should be updated and configured according to the instructions from the manufacturers.

The application is not running because it is not configured correctly - you have a problem with Microsoft . NET Framework— update or reinstall the application.

Failed to initialize - reinstalling the game will help you.

The mouse twitches and disobeys - You should go to Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse and go to the “Pointer Options” tab. Uncheck the “Enable increased pointer accuracy” checkbox and voila! Everything works well :)

Errors related to third-party applications:

Banfdicam, fraps and other programs should be launched BEFORE starting the game.

We collect all kinds of problems with the game and how to fix them. This material will be updated.

Problem:

  • Close everything necessary programs during a gaming session
  • Make sure your Firewall and antivirus are not blocking the game
  • If you are using screen capture programs (like Fraps), make sure their overlay is disabled. Such programs also include Team speak, Overwolf, etc.
  • Check your computer for viruses. Some types of spyware and viruses can make changes to your system's memory or installed files.
  • Reinstall the game
  • Problem: "failed to retrieve user code 1:10000 from GFACE"

    • Log out of the game launcher and try logging in again.

Problem: I can't launch the game launcher

    • Open Task Manager and end the process "nw.exe *32"

    Problem: "Connection to server lost"

One of the most common problems. There are many reasons for this error to occur. This can happen either through the fault of the user or the fault of the game manufacturer. But mainly due to the user's fault.

Before you start looking for a solution to this problem, you should know the main reasons for its occurrence:

    • Your geographic location may affect your connection to the game server
    • The type of your Internet connection can also affect the connection to the server. It is recommended to use a wired connection (ADSL)
    • Weather
    • Using a VPN
    • Programs running in the background and using your connection such as Skype, Torrent, Teamspeak, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.
    • Your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
    • Restart the router. Turn off your router for 10-30 seconds or use the function to roll back the router settings to the manufacturer's settings.
    • Restart the computer
    • Close all programs running in the background that are using your connection
    • Reinstalling the game

    Problem: the game stopped working

Usually occurs due to damage or deletion of game files necessary for operation.

    • Reinstalling the game. Due to frequent game updates, DLL files games may be damaged. Reinstalling will install new DLL files on your computer. This solution helps in 60% of cases.

Problem: The game crashes without any notification or with the notification “Warface crashed.Send error report.”

    • make sure your Firewall and antivirus are not blocking the game
    • scan your computer for viruses
    • open Task Manager, go to Processes section, click right click mouse on "Game.exe *32" (do this when running game) and change the priority to High. Do not under any circumstances set the priority to “Real Time Priority”, this may cause the game to crash.

Problem: the game crashes when opening lucky boxes

This error is very rare, but occurs on some types of computers and is associated with an error in the animation files.

    • Before purchasing boxes of luck, you need to delete the animation files of these boxes. To do this, you need to go into the game and, while remaining in the lobby, open the directory C:\ProgramData\GFACE\warface\game\Localized\Video and delete the following files: RandomBox_Shakerusm, RandomBox_Shaker2.usm, RandomBox_Shaker3.usm, RandomBox_Shaker4.usm and RandomBox_Shaker5.usm. This procedure will disable animation in the slot machine.
    • Reinstalling the game may also help
    • Update your video card drivers

Problem: stop downloading and installing an update

    • Try restarting the update, if that doesn’t help, then move on to the next step
    • Go to the directory C:\ProgramData\GFACE\Warface\.gip and delete the folder. Then try installing the update again.
    • A complete reinstall of the game might help.
    • Some types of antivirus software may block the installation of the update. Try disabling your antivirus while installing the update.

Yes, it crashes and you are not alone with your problem. There are many reasons, but the result is the same. Constant crashes of the game client. Let's try to figure out why the game crashes during a battle or immediately after launch.

The most common problem is an unstable Internet connection. There may be several reasons for this.

The most common thing is a running torrent client with output turned on to maximum.

This is followed by an enabled antivirus and firewall that controls network traffic. It happens that sometimes the program does not have time to check all incoming traffic and blocks incoming packets for analysis. The solution is simple - cut off the malicious pest and enjoy playing Warface without crashes.

There may also be problems with the provider, for example, recently the connection from Rostelecom has not been pleasing at all.

3G Internet is a completely different story - it seems to exist, but it seems to not exist. Mystic.

The next global cause of crashes is the computer, your gaming...

Warface crashes? No problem, we will find your problem and offer an effective solution. There are various reasons that cause the game to crash during a battle or even at a very early stage.

    Reasons for crashing during loading

In Warface, there are splash screens, the game loads, but the loading does not reach the end - a black screen appears and the game crashes. Why? On the game forum, you will find many threads about this problem, but in fact three programs are to blame:

Avast Antivirus; Comodo Antivirus; Fraps – recording the game world for further enrichment on YouTube.

It is necessary not only to disable antivirus and other programs, but to completely erase them from the OS. This is a working scheme that will allow you to get back into the game.

The application is not running because it is not configured correctly - you have a problem with the Microsoft .NET Framework - update or reinstall the application.

The Crytek studio was previously known to all gamers for games such as Crysis, Far Cry and Rome. But at the beginning of 2012, the developers introduced Warface, a multiplayer online shooter. The game immediately became popular not only in the CIS, but throughout the world. It is worth noting that the game is distributed under a Free-to-play license, which means that anyone can download it absolutely free. Well, let's get down to business and look at the main bugs that can cause problems with the game.

    Minimum hardware requirements:

    • Windows XP/Vista
    • Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz
    • 1 GB RAM
    • 4.5 GB of free hard disk space
    • Video card with 256 MB
    • Internet access

Does your system fit these parameters, but still have some glitches? Then move on to the next points.

    Warface crashes while loading

The official forum says that this problem occurs among those who use Avast or Comodo antivirus programs. There may also be problems when using Fraps. Accordingly, if you really use any of this software, then simply disable it and try to start the game again.

Error "Failed to initialize the GameStartup Interface!"

To get rid of this bug, you need to reset your settings. But since Warface does not start, the solution is not so obvious. We need to manually delete the game.cfg configuration file, which is located in the %USERNAME%\Saved Games\My Games\Warface (Win Vista / 7) or %USERNAME%\My Documents\My Games\Warface (Win XP) folder.

Game freezes and very low FPS

If you have a laptop that has an integrated and discrete video card, then it is quite possible that Warface uses the built-in one, which is weaker. You need to make changes in your system settings so that games use only the discrete graphics card.

For those who have NVIDIA: open the “Control Panel” -> select “NVIDIA Control Panel” -> “Manage 3D Settings” -> open “Program Settings” -> click “Add” and select the exe file from the Bin32Release directory.

For those with ATI: right-click on the desktop -> select “Switchable graphics settings” -> go to “Other applications” and click “Select” -> find and click on the Game.exe file, which is located in the Bin32Release folder .

Most likely, this will remove the lags and you will be able to play comfortably. But if you don't have a laptop, then you need to set the mappings. How to do it:

    1. When the game is running, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
    2. In the task manager, go to the “Processes” tab
    3. Find Game.exe there and right-click on it
    4. In the context menu, select “Set Match”
    5. Then in the window that appears, uncheck all the boxes and leave only one (any)

After all the steps have been completed, you can close the task manager and return to the game. FPS should increase and stuttering should disappear.

Error “There is already an application running. Cannot start another one!

It’s easy to guess that the system notifies you that Warface is already running, although this is not the case. You need to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and in the task manager in the “Processes” section, terminate Game.exe. After this, the game will launch without problems.

    Other errors

Note that Crytek is constantly working to improve the game and release new updates. Sometimes it happens that Warface starts to crash after an update. Don’t worry, 99% of the time the problem is not in your system but in the new patch. You just have to wait until the new one comes out and update.

It also happens with connection problems. Sometimes the servers are unstable, which is why many players are unable to connect. Wait a while and you will be able to play again.
