The most armored tank of tier 1. Overview of typical representatives

World of Tanks All combat vehicles are divided into ten levels according to their combat characteristics and, as is the case with many online games with mechanics, each new level unlocks more powerful machines. Since all tanks and their characteristics are copied from real samples or prototypes of tanks, each of them is assigned a class.

Light tanks drive fast but deal little damage, heavy tanks are more durable but slow, and they also deal the most damage, medium tanks are the golden mean (among them the legendary T-34). There are also two support classes - self-propelled howitzer artillery (Art-SAU) and self-propelled anti-tank guns (PT-SAU). Depending on the chosen class, the player can perform various tasks, and the level of the tank helps him choose opponents based on strength.

Tank level system World of Tanks existed from the very beginning of development, as a mandatory element of the game mechanics, but the role of the levels was reduced only to the opportunity to unlock a more powerful tank. Now the levels of tanks play an important role for the balance of the game, but even at the alpha testing stage there was practically no balance in the game and game servers There was a real genocide of low-level tanks. To balance the chances of different players at the beta testing stage, the so-called. balancer - a special system for distributing tanks into playable groups.
The balancer selects equivalent teams for a game session for any of the 3 modes, and this process takes into account the level of the tank, its balance weight and some other features, such as belonging to a platoon. Each mode has its own balanced queue (33 in total, since 11 battle levels * 3 game modes). This means that opposing teams cannot consist exclusively of heavy tanks or high-level tank destroyers while their opponents are entirely made up of light, low-level tanks. All players are distributed evenly. A light tank in a team is compensated by a heavy tank and a tank destroyer by howitzer artillery. It is also worth noting that the game is at different levels tanks World of Tanks is not the same. Levels 5-6, the so-called, are deservedly considered optimal for the game. “midlevel”. At this stage, you can play with most of the available tanks, all cards are open and game modes, teams consist of the maximum variety of combat vehicles. Low levels are a kind of training for beginners who are not accustomed to the mechanics of the game, and the ninth and tenth levels are completely populated by extras and real pros of the game. The balancer's tank level +2 allowance allows, for example, to play a level 4 tank in the same team with 6, but the opportunity to play with “tops” is not always a desirable match. Especially at the highest levels.
Thus, the balancer provides an interesting and tense game, in which the team with stronger players, but not the machines, wins.
Among 10 tank levels World of Tanks Only at levels 4 to 8 there are tanks of all 5 classes. And that is why the game at these levels is the most interesting and varied.

World of Tanks: first level tanks

Represented by the following tanks and combat vehicles: MS-1, T1 Cunningham, Vickers Medium Mk.1, Renault Otsu, Leichttraktor and Env_Artillery, Renault FT, Kolohousenka and Renault NC-31.

There is no absolute “imba” among them. Tanks are more or less balanced. All Renaults are almost exact clones of each other and there is not much difference when playing for them. The German Env_Artillery is the absolute leader in damage dealt and is therefore often chosen by beginners for the game.

World of Tanks: second level tanks

Includes the following tanks: T-26, BT-2 and AT-1 of the Soviet Union, T2 Medium, M2 Light and T18 USA, Pz.Kpfw. and II Pz.Kpfw. 35(t) Germany, D1 and Hotchkiss H35 France

As with first-tier tanks, there is no absolute leader or outright loser here. However, it is worth noting the American T2 Medium with good characteristics that allow it to compete with tanks of the 3rd and 4th levels, as well as the Hotchkiss of France. Experienced players create a massacre using the durable but clumsy H35 against newcomers.

World of Tanks: third level tanks

They are distinguished by a huge number of lungs German tanks and artillery of various armor and calibers. The third level is still a “sandbox” with inexperienced players, but already a complex “mixture” due to the large number of different equipment. Often the third level becomes the most difficult in a player's gaming experience - if a beginner does not master it, he quits World of Tanks.

The Soviet T-127 and the American M2 Medium are deservedly considered the most popular and strongest tanks of the third tier. Experienced players quickly get used to the mechanics of movement and shooting of these machines and play on them up to the 5th level.

World of Tanks: fourth level tanks

This is where the serious machines begin. The most important acquisition of the 4th level may be the German Hetzer. Many players adore it not only for its good characteristics in terms of speed, rate of fire and combat power, but also for its characteristic appearance and low profile. The absence of a turret on a vehicle does not in any way prevent you from dominating your enemies.

World of Tanks: fifth level tanks

Represented by a huge number of truly diverse cars. Already at the fifth level, outright “imbs” and real unplayable “buckets” appear. All light tanks of the 5th level are playable and almost equal in strength. But among medium, heavy and artillery, the leaders in popularity are the KV-1, T67, M-4 and the legendary T-34. The latter can be considered an “imba”, because its speed, rate of fire and good armor allows you to destroy almost all level 5 tanks World of Tanks.

World of Tanks: sixth level tanks

Level 6 pleases with the most “adequate” selection of combat vehicles. All are comfortable to play and well balanced. IN World of Tanks The best tier 6 tank is undoubtedly the T-34-85. In terms of shooting mechanics and basic parameters, the tank is no different from its younger brother, however, it has a larger caliber gun. It allows you to open even some level 8 tanks like tin cans, and with proper leveling it becomes best friend for many hundreds of battles. In addition to the legend T-34-85 World of Tanks Tier 6 tanks are represented by the worthy SU-100 (the best tank in terms of performance), and the British Cromwell, as a worthy replacement for the T-34-85.

World of Tanks: Tier 7 tanks

The seventh level is the most difficult for choosing the best tank. All the machines presented in this level are balanced, playable and extremely effective in the “direct” hands. Among tank destroyers, the leaders are the Soviet SU 152 and SU 122-44. In terms of armor penetration and damage, they are the undoubted leaders, and their low rate of fire and low profile help them effectively fire for a long time.

The class of heavy tanks is best represented by the IS and T29, but the German Tiger in the hands of an experienced player can be a worthy competitor to them. Medium tanks offer the T44 and T20 as the fastest and easiest to master vehicles.

World of Tanks: Tier 8 tanks

The “border” of playable levels is represented by a wide variety of tanks, which real life were single copies or supplied to the army in small quantities. Perhaps it was this fact that affected the playability and variability of war chariots at this stage of the game.

The German Spähpanzer Ru 251 is the best tank in terms of game variability. A powerful, high-speed tank does a good job of “breaking the mold” of a clumsy tank destroyer and allows you to quickly occupy key points. Among heavy tank The leader is the IS-3, which is powerful, well-armored and unusually fast for tanks in the highest weight category. We recommend purchasing it. The best art, according to players, is the Soviet ISU-152 and the American M40/M43 as the most variable.

World of Tanks: ninth level tanks

There are no light tanks at this level. Only heavyweights, only hardcore.

The leaders among medium tanks are the Škoda T 50 and Lorraine 40 t as the best in terms of basic indicators. Variable vehicles that, with a “competent” crew, can work wonders on open maps. Heavy tanks offer us the ST-1 as the tank with the highest armor and damage. The tank destroyer and art self-propelled gun represent Tortoise and Bat.-Châtillon 155 55 respectively. Despite the presence of leaders within the boundaries of their level, we advise you to try out each of the few tanks of the 9th level. All of them are worthy of attention and can show excellent statistics even after the first battle.

World of Tanks: level ten tanks

Powerful and heavy, clumsy and tenacious, fantastic tanks, not a small part of which lived only on drawings and in the minds of the gloomy geniuses of Germany, make up the 10th level of combat vehicles. At level 10 you should play with full dedication - extras and pro players will not forgive you even the slightest mistake and will punish you for the slightest mistake. The JagdPanzer E-100, a self-propelled gun with a 170mm cannon, leaves no stone unturned by its enemies. Durable all-round armor allows you to withstand multiple hits from “mosquito” guns and gives you enough time to cut down as many inexperienced enemies as possible. Another example of level 10 tanks in World of Tanks is FV215B (183) - also an experimental model of British armored vehicles.

IN World of Tanks The best tier 10 tanks are presented by the following vehicles:

Medium tanks are represented by the T-62A (Object 165), which can rightfully be called the fastest among all classes. The biggest advantage of this vehicle is the highest projectile speed among all classes, high maneuverability and good armor. Undoubtedly the leader in popularity and the crown of tank development is the T110e5. This American tank is a real bending stick, an elusive sniper with strong armor, maneuverable chassis and good visibility. Pro players and eSports players often choose the T110e5 for serious gaming.

At the end of the article, it’s also worth mentioning the cards on which you can “test” your equipment.

Low-level battles can take place on a limited number of maps. They are characterized by the simplicity of the landscape, are easy to remember and provide the opportunity to ride light and medium tanks without artillery support.

  • Secondlevel adds Karelia, Prokhorovka, Ensk to these maps.
  • Firstlevel: maps of Himmelsdorf, Winter Himmelsdorf, Rudniki, Province and Malinovka.
  • From 4 to 10 levels All other maps are available, except for the Province map (only for levels 1-3) and Widepark (available for play at levels 4-6).

Thanks to numerous patches, updates and fixes, tank levels in World of Tanks are not stable. Numerous nerfs to vehicles and rebalancing of cards make significant changes to the gameplay.

If you are playing World of Tanks for a long time, then you should know the current news of the game and follow the progress of balancing equipment for more successful battles. In any case, at whatever level of tanks in World of Tanks you didn't play, your gaming experience will be a fun time among the community of this wonderful game. We hope our information about tank levels in World of Tanks and the principle of operation of the balancer was useful for you.

What is the best tier 1 tank in World of Tanks?

22/07/2014

Tier 1 tanks mainly include only light tanks, but there is only one medium tank 1st level Vickers Medium Mk. I. In terms of its characteristics, it is inferior to both light tanks and STs, so take it into account best tanks We won't be at this level. Perhaps we should start with the light Soviet tank MS-1. This tank has a low speed, which does not allow it to act as a firefly. Also low accuracy and armor, which does not make it a contender for any enemy. But a good rate of fire and fairly good damage at this level allow it to occupy a leading position in our ranking of the best tier 1 tanks in World of Tanks. Next comes the German Leichttraktor, which has very good visibility for a tier 1 tank. The difference from its Soviet counterpart is that its gun is not capable of inflicting the same damage as the MC-1. It is worth noting the American T1 Cunningham, which also does not have a powerful weapon, but has a machine gun that is capable of inflicting a lot of damage on enemies of its level. The weakness is that during reloading the tank can be easily destroyed. Our list ends with the French Renault FT, which has a good engine, but a very low maximum speed. Its weak weapon and short firing range make it unsuitable for battles in open areas. Based on all this, we can say that the best tier 1 tank in World of Tanks is the MS-1.

What's special about Tier 2 tanks? The fact that they are technically much stronger than the “tractors” of the first level, and if you put a pumped-up crew in them, it will be absolutely great. It is this level that allows you to take a break from high-level battles and simply relax in battles, where you don’t need to overcome and swear at the team, or, on the contrary, listen to dissatisfied statements after making a mistake. In these battles you can feel like a truly top tank, which is noticeably superior to most enemies. Of course, there can be outright leaks here too, but not often. Go back to the old tank you started leveling up with and you will be surprised how much stronger it will be with an upgraded crew. If you want to play in such battles for a long time, then you can spend money on additional equipment.

Sandbox chaos

Features of joint battles of levels 1-2:

  • Good balance among 2 levels

There are no clearly bad or good tanks here. We choose any one we like and pump up the crew. Also, in battles where tanks of levels 1 and 2 are present at the same time, there are no self-propelled guns and tank destroyers, which means our chances of surviving and dying are increased.

  • Inadequate

Just a warning: at these levels there are frequent team kills, chaos in chat and in battle. Be ready.

  • Low player skill

Even if some of them are familiar with the map, know how to play well and try to act according to plan, then most of the team will scatter everywhere and will have to rely mainly only on themselves. Fortunately, there are often obvious key points on the maps where most tanks will still flock. Enemies will be hit poorly, even if the player is experienced, he is unlikely to spend money on training the crew of a passing vehicle.

  • Automatic guns

The caliber is approximately 20 mm, they fire a burst with a characteristic “automatic” sound. At other, higher levels of battles, nothing similar will happen. These guns penetrate approximately 30 mm of armor and are not particularly accurate, plus they often ricochet. But they crit the tracks well, throw off the enemy’s aiming and allow you to fill him with shells if you manage to find them weakness. Also, shots from such guns often hit their own due to the large dispersion in movement.

  • Tractors

Tier 1 tanks are MS-1, Leichttraktor, T1 Cunningham and Renault FT. Just easy frags. Shooting them is less fun than level 2 tanks, but it’s still nice. They do not pose a danger (unless you stand still and attack several enemies). Maybe the top MC-1, due to its small size and effective gun. But still, a crew with a skill of 50% will sit in it, which means it will often miss the mark.

Level 2-3 battles

Features of the battle when we are in the middle or at the bottom of the list:

  • Don't be a hero!

Don't rush ahead of higher level tanks, don't ride alone, and don't try to stop the attack of multiple enemies. In these battles, you simply need to survive, and let the tops bend (lvl 3). True, if you have your own cunning plan or are playing as a firefly, then you yourself know how to act.

  • Tank destroyer

Anti-tank self-propelled guns AT-1, Panzerjäger I and T18 can be strong opponents, especially if these players constantly use them and have a pumped-up crew. Because of them, the offensive should be carried out carefully, first “probing” the enemy, and not immediately bursting into his base, especially on open maps. If entrenched ATs are discovered (for example, by tracers from the bushes), then it is better to look for workarounds or wait until a more opportune moment in cover. If you manage to get close to the PT, then do not stop moving and shoot on the move. Although they have no armor everywhere, they will not be able to have time to turn the body to fire. Separately, it is worth considering the T18 - on the contrary, it has very thick armor - as much as 51 mm in the front and 32 mm on the side. She should shoot down the caterpillar, and then drive around and shoot at the stern. It doesn’t sound very convincing, but you will have to do this, and more than once. If the T18 fires from a distance, then it is better to seek cover or retreat (for example, to look for workarounds). In such a situation, there is little point in shooting at the T18 - the forehead is too thick.

Here the art may be in an unusual place - at the top of the list. SU-18 and Bison are quite easy to kill. True, the SU-18 can be missed due to its small size, but it will most likely stand still or clumsily try to maneuver. These artillery pieces only hit targets standing still, so it’s better to maneuver more often. The unpleasant thing is that they can hit you right on the roof, when you think you are sitting in a safe shelter. The T57, on the other hand, is not so easily destroyed and likes to shoot directly. It's better to shoot at her top part body, and not the lower one, if it is in front (however, I have not personally tested this advice). In general, the T57 should be perceived as a full-fledged tank, and not an artillery piece. It can be positioned behind low cover and detect enemies while firing accurately at them. And if detected, it is much faster than the SU-18 and Bison. We can say that the T57 is best art 2 levels.

  • Similarity to tier 3 tanks

Many Tier 3 tanks are simply improved versions of Tier 2 models, so the techniques for fighting them will be similar. But, of course, they will have more HP, speed and, perhaps, a more lethal gun.

  • Land mine

Beware of the M2 Medium tank with a high explosive (75 mm gun) mounted on it. It can be recognized by its open turret and the large thickness of its cannon barrel. The player who took this weapon was clearly up to something bad.
UPD: Lately, M2 Med has been fought like a passer-by, and the danger of his high-explosive weapon (if he has one) is already a rarity. But instead of it, the American T18 tank is now frightening with a high-explosive weapon - that’s what we should be wary of now.

  • "Catfish"

Here you can find a very rare premium tank - Pz.Kpfw. S35 739 (f) , or Somua. Although the defense is the same as that of the Tier 2 Hotchkiss, this tank has a very effective gun for a Tier 3 and a lot of HP.

Overview of typical representatives

Below is short review the most famous level 2 technology. First, the expected style of play on a given machine is described, and then ( in bold) recommendations for its destruction.

Researchable tanks

T-26

The tank from which the branch of Soviet heavy tanks begins. Has thin armor of 15 mm, but enough powerful gun 37 mm ZiS-19. Thanks to this, it can be used as a support tank or as a tank tank. By shooting from bushes, you can achieve good results. Due to the low speed of movement, it will not be possible to “dodge” projectiles, so cover is necessary for this tank.

The tank is easily destroyed by any weapon, so there are no problems with it if it is standing in open areas. Try to get close to him so he can't use cover, but don't forget about his allies who can provide cover.

BT-2

The second Soviet tank, which is often found in sand battles. It is one of the possible paths to Soviet ST. It has the same thin armor as the T-26, which allows any low-power projectile to pass through. Essentially a variation of the Christie tank, it has a very powerful engine and relatively high speed, even with a poorly trained crew. The “top” armament is either the rapid-fire 23 mm VYa or the 37 mm ZiS-19 (the same as the T-26). The first will allow you to hit tanks on the move, and the second has good armor-piercing power. In battle, do not stand still, constantly change your position, moving to positions favorable for shooting, making approaches from the rear, or simply retreating from a superior enemy.

The BT-2 can penetrate easily, but it can be difficult to hit. Rotate not only the turret, but also the hull. Shoot the engine, it is large in size. With a damaged engine, this tank loses its advantage in quickly changing positions.

Pz.Kpfw. II

This tank is often seen in battles because it opens up several development branches for German technology- medium and heavy tanks, artillery (Wespe) and a dead-end branch with the firefly tank “VK 28.01”. A tank that is balanced in its characteristics, suitable for close combat and fire support. Has strong armor and a low silhouette. If the crew is not trained, there may be problems with maneuverability. As for weapons, there are only varieties of 20 mm rapid-fire cannon. On the one hand, this makes it possible to continuously shoot throughout the entire battle, but on the other hand, this gun cannot penetrate some tanks (for example, the Hotchkiss, which is discussed below). And the firing range is short (at long distances the shells simply “disappear”). In urban battles, the front position of the turret allows you to shoot while driving around corners.

If you want to hit this tank, shoot at the side and rear of the hull. The forehead does not penetrate well, and the tower often ricochets. If this tank is in front of you, try to go around from the side. In general, having superiority in armament (a “normal” gun), it will not pose any problems for you.

Pz.Kpfw. 35(t)

This tank often turns out to be a serious opponent. It has good frontal protection and an accurate gun. At first glance, the tank doesn't have anything special. 35 mm shield in the forehead of the turret and 25 mm in the forehead of the hull, while its side and stern can be made of anything. But the dynamics of this tank are excellent, and it can instantly turn around in front of you. The speed is only 35 km/h, but it accelerates quickly so it doesn't feel "sluggish". Its disadvantage is the small ammunition load of the top gun 3.7 cm Kw.K 38 (t) L/47. After a hot firefight, the shells may simply run out. This forces some players to install a 20 mm automatic cannon, which, although it penetrates armor worse, has almost endless ammunition. But still, if you need to consistently destroy enemy tanks, it is better to install a top one. Although when the commander is wounded, the tank turns into a pile of useless iron, it is not so easy to wound him because of that very 35 mm armor plate.
P.S.: Previously, this tank was in an optional development branch, so it was taken by potential “knockouts”. Now it is passable and less dangerous.

The tank easily penetrates the long side of the hull. If you only see the forehead of the tower, do not try to stand and exchange fire, it is better to go into cover and look for workarounds. In close combat, ram him and don't let him turn in front.

T2 Medium

The first medium tank in the game, it will be used by future owners of the American heavy tanks T29 - T110E5. In fact, it does not have any special advantages. The uniform armor thickness of 22 mm throughout the body is quite thin and almost does not ricochet. The front engine is a vulnerable point and is very easy to hit. The rear position of the turret creates inconvenience when shooting from cover. This tank is rarely seen in battles, perhaps it was skipped during free experience. The tank's speed is normal. The armament, although not as penetrating as that of the T-26 and BT-2, is normal for these battles. In general, the tank is very different from the others, but no one has time to understand its essence because of the quick jump to the next tank. Maybe some of you will be able to reveal its hidden potentials?

With him there will be no questions “where to shoot?” As we stand, we shoot. It does not have thicker armor at the front, and the silhouette is unlikely to be larger from the side.

M2 Light

M2 Light Tank is a typical reconnaissance tank. Starts a branch of American light and medium tanks. It has excellent speed and at the same time has a short body. Getting into the engine (as in the case of BT-2) will no longer be possible. Its armor is uniform, 25 mm, and provides protection against penetration by low-power tractor guns and automatic guns. The stock weapons will surprise you (not in a good way), but the top guns are no worse than other similar tier 2 guns. This tank can be equipped with a radio station with a range of as much as 615 meters, which is clearly excessive for this level. Maneuver and ride without stopping - this will teach you the tactics of playing on the ST.

To destroy this fast tank you need to shoot down the track. A burst from an automatic cannon will help you close it down. If you're on a fast tank, you can chase it and shoot it from behind. As in the case of the BT-2, turn the body along with the gun if it tries to go around you.

The slow and clumsy French tank is the first step towards the French heavy tanks. But it has good, uniform armor of 30 mm throughout the hull (and the top turret has 40 mm). There are even cases of receiving the “Steel Wall” medal (but you shouldn’t count on it - usually the armor still breaks through at the very least). The guns are typical for tier 2 - no short stock gun and a top-end machine gun. The rest of the weapons - a 13.2 mm machine gun and a 47 mm cannon - are downright bad. From the front this tank has a small silhouette, but from the side it is a bit long. Not recommended for the impatient - this tank can be annoying with its slowness. Another drawback is the mediocre radio. If you are separated from other tanks, you can end up “blind”.

Although this tank has uniform armor, the spin move still works. The sides and rear are less likely to ricochet, and a broken engine will turn the D1 into an almost motionless box and, most likely, this will greatly affect the nerves of its owner. Try to force this tank to maneuver a lot - this will tire the player and reduce the effectiveness of his shooting.

Hotchkiss H35

Starts a branch of French LT and ST. Similar to the previous tank, but with more armor and even lower speed. Although he starts a popular French branch with light and medium tanks, it is rarely seen in battle. Perhaps they prefer to try it out on free experience. It has good protection - uniform armor of 40 mm in any part of the hull and turret. This allows you to compensate for low mobility and use defensive tactics, or slowly but surely “push through” the enemy’s defenses. There are chances to take “Steel Wall”. The radio is also weak, but Hotchkiss usually does not act alone due to his low speed, remaining close to the base, or following the "crowd" along the main attack path.

“Turning” this tank is no longer effective. Its owner is prepared for his slowness, and will rely on his durability and firepower. Try to shoot at the tower - the commander's wound is very critical. Also, do not forget about the presence of vulnerable spots (hatches). Fierce fire at them from an automatic cannon can knock out the entire Hotchkiss crew at once.

Researchable tank destroyers

AT-1

The first tank destroyer of the Soviet branch. He is a dangerous enemy (like, in general, all tier 2 tanks) due to his powerful weapons and good mobility. Although it is usually completed in 2-3 days, some experienced players ride it “for fun” or use it to bend the sandbox. Has a choice of 3 top weapons. One of them - 76 mm L-10S - has huge damage for its level of 110 units and excellent penetration (66 mm), as well as powerful high-explosive fragmentation shells, which, in most cases, guarantee its owner a “one-shot”, and you - direct road to the hangar. Among the disadvantages are the low rate of fire, a very long aiming and the largest dispersion among the guns at its disposal. Another - 57 mm ZiS-8S - a balanced weapon with very high penetration (75 mm) and the same damage; used as a sniper weapon at medium-long distances.

If you see “shooting bushes” in front of you, it is better not to try to fly at them head-on. If they are NOT shooting at you, you can throw a couple of your shells at them, and then IMMEDIATELY retreat somewhere to the side (for example, behind an impenetrable obstacle). If they shot at you, and after that there is still something left of your tank, rush as far as possible, “wobbling” from side to side!!
This tank destroyer has very weak armor, which makes unwary specimens an easy target. In close combat it can be “twisted”.

T18

Start American branch Tank destroyer. It is also very popular among “sandbenders” for its thick armor, which is too strong for “autocannons”. Has a choice of two top weapons. The first is the QF 2-pdr Mk. IX - fast and accurate 40 mm gun with high penetration (64 mm) and damage of 45 units; Considering its rate of fire, it is a very dangerous weapon. The second is the 75 mm Howitzer M1A1 - a high explosive with decent penetration of 38 mm and colossal damage of 175 units; Most level 2 tanks do not survive being hit by such a projectile.

As mentioned earlier, the thickness of the armor of this tank destroyer does not allow it to be penetrated in the forehead (and sometimes even in the side) of most Tier 1 and 2 tanks. To destroy it, in most cases, it is necessary to hit the stern. To make this task easier, it is better to first knock down its caterpillar. Trying to ram a T18 is practically suicide!

The main thing when destroying Tetris is not to lose a single chance to shoot at it. Once he stops, or greatly slows down while maneuvering, immediately pepper him with projectiles anywhere. For active counteraction, fast tanks can try to “sit on the tail” by firing and ramming it.

T2 Light

Gold version of M2 Light. Noticeably faster than any other tank in the game, but has thin armor (like Soviet tanks 2 levels). This tank is usually used as a firefly in high-level battles, but it can also be found in regular battles. The only weapon it has is an automatic cannon, which means it doesn’t penetrate enemies well. During fast maneuvers you will have to choose quickly vulnerabilities and enter from the side and from behind. Frequently shooting at the enemy will throw off his aim. Never try to participate in a direct firefight while driving a T2 Light - after all, this tank is the fastest, most maneuverable, accelerating and so... papery!

When encountering this tank, the first thing to do is crawl to cover, then it will not be able to freely maneuver around you. You can even just rest your butt against the wall. If your tank is fast, you can try to ram it (however, it will be more difficult to catch it than the BT-2 and Tetrarch). Don't forget to take lead if he is far away and driving perpendicular to you ( common mistake novice players - aim at the tank itself).

Pz.Kpfw. 38H 735 (f)

It is a captured French Hotchkiss tank, converted to German standards. This tank lost value after the introduction of the French tank line into the game, and was removed from the store. If you meet him in battle, he is no longer so scary due to the nerf and the changed balance. This text already refers to historical chronicles (not relevant now):

Trash and frenzy in the darkness of hell, known as “hotchkiss” and “mini-mouse”. It is dangerous not only for its properties, but also because the player who took it intends to do something terrible to inexperienced players. And, of course, the crew of this tank will most likely be upgraded to 100%. The main advantage of this tank is its thick armor for level 2: 34 mm throughout the hull and 45-40 mm in the turret. You don’t have to worry too much about which side you stand towards the enemies, but still there is a chance of a ricochet in front and the silhouette is smaller than if you stand sideways. The problem is the very low speed; you always need to know clearly in advance where to go or where to stand. If you decide to stand, it is better not far from your base, since if it is captured by enemies, you may simply not have time to get there. Don't forget that many top tanks still easily penetrate its armor, for example, T-26 and BT-2 with 37 mm top guns. You can carry a first aid kit with you; It will be useful rarely, but accurately. The enemy Hotchkiss can also cause problems, especially if it suddenly appears while you are busy shooting numerous enemies. In general, each player uses this tank in his own way. Some are like a battering ram at the forefront of a rush, some are like a support or ambush tank, or stand guard over the base.

How to destroy Hotchkiss? Furiously fire everything you can at the body. Up close, you can try to shoot through vulnerable spots (all sorts of hatches and viewing slots on the forehead) or close the gun. Or you can simply run away from him and do the trick of capturing the base, if the situation allows it.

Epigraph: We have patch 9.0, and you?

Wow... Patch 9.4 is already and patch 9.5 is just around the corner. It's time to rewrite and supplement the article again.
The vast majority of players, starting game World of Tanks, is in a hurry to pump up the tank as high as possible, thinking that this will somehow make the game easier for him. Then at some point someone asks the question, what tanks can be left in the hangar? Maybe not everything needs to be sold, but some can be left? What tanks should I download? What tanks can you “bend” on, etc. and so on. Which tanks will be more comfortable to carry out missions where the equipment of each nation is needed?

I’ll immediately disappoint you with the answer to the “bending” question:
It is not the technique that wins, but the player. And the victory itself depends on the player, his personal preferences and style of play, and not on the tank.

Undoubtedly, there are better vehicles in the game, there are worse ones, there are tanks with simply excellent performance, and there are such dull vehicles that you give up and don’t want to continue playing on this tank. But sometimes we have to endure it or, knowing that trouble awaits us, we must rush past free experience, so that in the end you can put in the hangar the tank on which you will be comfortable and pleasant to spend time in battles. We will try to allocate such tanks from each of the nations. By the way, I will ignore almost all self-propelled guns due to the fact that they “cut” the experience earned per battle, and the experience itself is already more difficult to earn than with other types of equipment.

More about the abbreviations that will appear later in the text: KB - , ST - medium tank, TT - heavy tank, PT - anti-tank self-propelled guns, LT - light tank, BB - armor-piercing projectile, UVN - angles vertical aiming, TTX – tactical and technical characteristics.

Tanks 1-4 levels

I am convinced that any good player should have a level 1 tank in the hangar, with at least 2 perks (skills). Having good tank(preferably with good statistics on this tank) you have a chance to play together with top players, extras, folders or whatever they are called. You will be able to see what they do to win, what tactics they use, what the commander says, what decisions he makes and when, etc. and so on. This is because sometimes in companies, or perhaps in other types of battles, top players are faced with the problem of recruiting a level 1 tank. Everyone wants to damage and na-gi-baaaaaat, and playing at level 1 against levels 6 and 8 does not imply such a game. The commander can sometimes mount a level 1 tank himself. It is also possible that they will want to add a tier 1 tank to a medium or champion company. Although everything changes from patch to patch. The average company now takes as standard 10 tanks of the 6th level. The champion has a standard 11 tanks of the 8th level and one tank of the second level.

Which Tier 1 tank should I leave in the hangar?

There are three of them, choose for yourself, I put them in order of personal preference:
  • T1 Cunningham
  • Leichttraktor
The statistics on the popularity of Tier 1 tanks are as follows:

The rest of the first tier tanks are not so popular among good players. And it is not advisable to play on these tanks. Also, if you chose a tier 1 tank, forget about the other tanks of that tier. Don't play on them! Remember, if you have the opportunity not to play on a bad or passable tank, do not play on this vehicle. These tanks can be completed with free experience. We can even immediately start the game on a second level tank (not a premium, but an ordinary tank). Even before our first battle in the game, we complete the “Combat Training” mission. On the screen you can see where this task is located:

If you don’t have the “Combat Training” mission in your hangar, close the game, go to the game folder, and then \World_of_Tanks\res_mods here, rename the xvm folder to something else (for example xvm1). You launch the game, “Combat Training” has appeared in the hangar, complete the mission, close the game, return the xvm folder to its name.
After completing the "Combat Training" mission you will receive 300 free experience, and it is enough to start the game with any second-tier tank. But you need about 4000 more silver to buy a second level tank. After the ban on the sale of some goodies from the warehouse, the opportunity to get silver to buy a second level tank without playing on the first tank has become somewhat more complicated, but such an opportunity exists. There are several ways. The simplest one is selling 10 gold in the game for 4000 silver. You might ask where did the gold come from if you just started the game and didn’t use an invite code? For changing your game password, Wargaming will award you 300 gold. By the way, this promotion is periodic, not one-time. For which I am personally grateful to the game developers.

Which tier 2 tank can be left in the hangar?

From what was written above, you need to understand that we keep this tank in the hangar primarily so that we have the opportunity to play with good players in companies or possibly design bureaus. And here there is only one option:

T2 Light Tank, and it's premium; The rest will only be needed by you, but they can also be used for something.

Pz.Kpfw. II- I think it’s the best tier 1-2 tank for a beginner who is learning the specifics of the “machine gun” game (the Pz.Kpfw. II has a machine gun, in order to learn how to shoot from this type of weapon, with quick reloading, it also has very good ricochet armor and you can learns to turn the hull against enemy machine guns; it will help little against “ordinary” guns, but even here ricochets are possible, in addition, the tank itself is very dynamic in terms of its armor);

Cruiser Mk. III– we have an excellent weapon at the 2nd level with penetration of 64/121 and the crew of this tank matches the majority British tanks up to level 10, BUT! there is no armor, the tank is equipped with BB guns from any machine gun;

M2 Light Tank– this is a possible replacement in T2 Light Tank companies, but worse;

But let's see what it tells us game statistics about level 2 technology.
By popularity:

Almost coincides with my opinion.
Now let's see by damage.

And then everything changes almost upside down. But note that in both cases it is in the top five. Draw your own conclusions. For personal entertainment and rides with friends in a platoon, you have the right to take any tier 2 tank you like.

I’ll speak separately about it - it’s a big, blind barn. Once upon a time it was impossible to buy sabots for silver, and the T18 terrified tanks of tier 1-3. But now they sew him with Serbogold without any problems in the forehead, no matter how much he tries to turn the body. Beginners love it because it is a high-explosive weapon with huge damage for a tier 2 tank. But the realities regarding the average damage can be seen above, and everything is not so rosy there.

In September 2014, another important event happened that radically changed the attitude of players towards low-level premium equipment. An increased experience coefficient based on the results of a battle was introduced for premium vehicles in general. The bonus to experience ranges from +10% to +70% and is inversely proportional to the level of premium equipment. That is, for the 2nd level it is + 70% to net experience per battle, for the 3rd level + 60% to net experience per battle, etc. Also in the September micropatch, an additional 50% bonus to crew experience was introduced for all premium vehicles. After that, upgrading your crew and learning new skills became much easier and faster using low-level premium tanks.

Now, of course, you can play the rest of the tier 1-2 vehicles, except for premium tanks and some of those described above, but it is not always objectively necessary. Don't be afraid to use free experience. In order to open any tank of the second level you need about 300 free experience. For the third level of tanks you will need about 2000 free experience. Etc.

And one more piece of advice: do not leave Tier 1-2 tanks of one nation in the hangar. Although exceptions are of course possible (for example, premium tanks).

In addition to what is written above, it is tanks of levels 1-2 that are not critical to the crew’s perks. And they can safely be used to pump out the first perk for commanders and then transfer them to any other equipment. And it is now advisable to do this at level 2-3 premiums. And now it’s not a fact that at levels 4-5 there is a technique where the same thing can be done faster.
Perhaps, regarding the technology itself, you personally will have other, individual, priorities, but this does not change the essence: low-level tanks in the hangar should remain or for possible game in companies, etc. or to be able to quickly upgrade the crew.

Let's look at an example of the feasibility of such advice. A few days ago a player approached me with a general question: “What is he doing wrong?” Let's look at his achievements:

We see what is created new account, quite a bit of equipment has been purchased, 202 battles have already been played, and the result, to put it mildly, is not very good. There was a game on passing tanks of levels 1-2 (why???), but tanks of levels 4-5 were taken for free experience (and I played at levels 1-2, that’s where the logic is?). No tank has a crew with perks, only one tank has positive statistics (and note that this tank has fought the most battles). If this player followed the "two tank" rule, and played these 202 battles of 100 per tank. Then each crew would already have the first perk (possibly a complete one, it depends on the player), and his statistics would be much better, even based on the fact that he would play on tanks with significantly the best crew. Regarding how long it takes to download the first perk, I can report that after playing 372 battles on T1 absolutely without donation, I got 100% of the first perk and 75% of the second. During promotions for accelerated upgrades of crews, with donations, I pump the first perk into the T-34 in 30-50 battles.

Which tier 3 tank can be left in the hangar?

Earlier I wrote that there are no such tanks. But now it makes sense to upgrade your crew to premium vehicles of this level with an increased experience coefficient of +60% and an additional 50% bonus to crew experience. As for playing on other vehicles, it is of course possible, but I don’t see much point in leaving it in the hangar. The tank will not be in demand anywhere except you personally. Ideally, I would recommend going through level 3 for free experience.

Which tier 4 tank can be left in the hangar?

Everything is the same about premium tanks - the bonus to experience is +50% and an additional bonus of 50% to crew experience, and this is very significant.

And from the 4th level you can already do analysis by nation. Next, on the screenshots for each nation, the most balanced and popular equipment will be highlighted in green. These are tanks on which, in addition to comfortable game you can (and should) “drag” battles. Red - tanks that are not recommended for the game. This means that you should try to pass them for free experience. But no one forbids downloading - it will be your choice.

Why don’t I recommend leaving ordinary tier 3 and 4 vehicles in the hangar? Everything is rationally simple. When playing at level 3 you will play against 2-3-4-5, and when playing at level 4 you will play against 3-4-5-6. Please note that tanks below you will be only one level, and above you two. And only starting from the 5th level there are wonderful battles where, being at the top of the team, you will see an enemy two levels lower on someone else’s team list. And here the main thing is not to miss your chance to give some help and cut frags.

We continue our parade of the best tanks in their damage and class, and in the last, fifth part,

We continue our parade of the best tanks in their damage and in their class, and in the last, fifth part, we will look at light tanks. Let's start the review, of course, with level 1, and end with level 8, respectively.

Who would doubt about the first level? Once upon a time, before the change in the design bureau format, it was irreplaceable, because almost the outcome of the battle depended on it. These were the eyes of the team, and in some cases, an excellent invader, and his crushing machine gun could deliver good module damage and even death to the Nineties, Sotkas and Borschts. Yes, yes and yes again, this is a T1 Cunningham, no MS-1s, no British mediums or French Renaults. Only T1, only hardcore. Machine gun in in capable hands capable of destroying even some 2nd levels. The dynamics, although not the best, are enough for the first level. We will calmly put the armor on a high shelf to gather dust and not even say a word about it, since talking about armor at level 1 will be ridiculous. We won’t bombard you with lengthy praise of this beauty and just sum it up, let’s say that the tank is universal, playable, and in the right hands it’s even crushing and flexible.

Pros:
- Magnificent 20mm machine gun
- Acceptable dynamics
- Rear position of the tower, which allows us to go around corners and cause damage
- High rate of fire inside the drum

Minuses:
- Long drum reload (about 10 sec)
- Front engine

They talk about this tank... But they don’t say anything. It takes 2-3 battles and is forgotten like an uninteresting dream. But in vain, since the tank is very interesting and can be a pleasure to play on it. The groove is quite versatile, having acceptable dynamics for level 2 and a very good weapon. 37 mm with a penetration of 42 mm, reload time about 2.5 seconds. and mixing in 1.7 seconds, very good performance. The armor resists only some weak machine guns, and occasionally guns with a penetration of 25 mm or more. Our 11 tons are accelerated by a 220-horsepower engine, so we dare not complain about the maximum speed. Finally, let’s say that the tank is very interesting and we advise everyone to play it while going through a branch, or just at their leisure.

Pros:
- Good maneuverability and dynamics
- Frontal armor for level 2 can withstand blows
- Decent visibility (290 m)
- Quick aiming of the gun (1.7 sec)

Minuses:
- Long turn of the tower
- The sides and stern are pretty cardboard

Imba level 3, because there is no other way to say it. An 8mm machine gun can incinerate tanks 1 level higher than us. The armor for level 3 is rather weak, but looking at the maximum speed, we can safely say that armor is not the main thing for it, because the maximum speed is 79 km/h. Not every enemy will be able to hit us, but if they do, then there is a 20-30 percent chance that there will be a ricochet or no penetration. But this is all a matter of chance and only you can decide how the battle will end, but in the end we will say that the tank will bring a lot of pleasure and fun during its passage.

Pros:
- Excellent top speed (79 km/h)
- Crushing machine gun
- Small and compact dimensions
- Good review

Minuses:
- Average armor
- Low armor penetration

Surely you thought that the Chinese would bypass us, but that was not the case. Fast, rapid-fire, with excellent review and just a great tank. M5A1 only causes trouble when leveling it up to the top state, and then we simply and without sudden movements move to the next tank. The gun has indicators acceptable for level 4: 81 mm of penetration, which is quite good at our level, damage of 70 units with a reload of 2.5 seconds. Stabilization, of course, is rather poor, but in close combat the tank copes with the enemy very quickly. As always, booking with us is a matter of taste. light tank, that is, none. Sometimes we can still get a ricochet due to our 45 degrees of armor tilt, but this happens quite rarely. And so we get a very playable and playful tank, which puts it in first place among tier 4 tanks.

Pros:
- Good dynamics
- Good UGN
- Compact size
- Acceptable visibility of 330 m

Minuses:
- Frequent engine crits
- Weak armor on the sides and stern

Little Chaffee deserves the honorary title of the best level 5 LT. It is good, of course, because of its visibility of 390 m and good maneuverability. The gun also does not let us down, because the CD is 2.5 seconds and the damage is 110 with a penetration of 96 mm, it’s like a bee’s sting that bites weakly but often. The cross-country ability and dynamics are generally impressive, as we feel free on different soils. Based on the excellent dynamics and visibility, we get an excellent tank for spotting and in some situations for supporting allies. Passing a tank will not cause you problems and waste of nerve cells.

Pros:
- Excellent dynamics
- Best Review at the level
- Excellent stabilization
- Best top speed (77 km/h)

Minuses:
- Lack of armor as such in all projections
- Weak armor penetration

A newcomer, but already gained quite a reputation. The tank does an excellent job of its job, namely, the job of a firefly. And he can shoot too, thanks to a gun with 150 penetration and 115 damage. Reload time is around 3 seconds, and stabilization is at an acceptable level. The maximum speed of the tank is 66 km/h, which is very good for a light tank. The visibility also did not disappoint - 385 m, so it will not be difficult for us to highlight the enemy while being in the bushes, rushing all over the battlefield.

Pros:
- Remarkable speed and maneuverability
- Rapid-fire cannon
- Good review

Minuses:
- Poor armor performance
- Very mediocre body dimensions

A tank that is incredibly popular, a tank that torments its enemies with its drum, a tank that brings a lot of fun and fun. Yes, this is our crazy stool - T71. Magnificent drum with 6 shells of 150 units of damage and penetration of 175. Unsurpassed maximum speed at 64 km/h with a mass of 18 tons. Of course, we will not say anything about the armor, since 25 mm in the forehead, although at an angle, will not give us anything, because we will not have to fight with levels 8, 9 and 10. The tank is very interesting and will bring you pleasure while passing it.

Pros:
- The presence of a drum for 6 shells
- High maximum speed and agility
- Small sizes
- Great overview

Minuses:
- Poor gun stabilization
- Lowest safety margin at the level

This choice will cause quite a lot of controversy, because at level 8 almost every tank can take first place, but still neither the ninety, nor the T49, nor anything else, namely the unsurpassed RUshka with its magnificent maximum speed of 80 km/ h, an acceptable and universal weapon, a low silhouette and remarkable UGN. And now some numbers: penetration 190 mm, damage 240 units, reduction 2.1 seconds, spread 0.36, and CD about 6 seconds. Quite average indicators, but they are quite enough. Our dynamic indicators are as follows: maximum speed of 80 km/h, agility of 38 degrees/sec, and acceleration ability of top level. Reservations in the light tank genre: 25 mm at the front of the hull and 20 mm around the turret, that is, everyone who hits us penetrates us. But our job, of course, is not tanking, but highlighting opponents and helping our allies. The tank is quite pleasant to play through, but still requires the ability to play LT, otherwise you will simply fade away on it, never revealing the potential of this tank in battle.

Pros:
- Universal weapon
- Excellent top speed
- Overview of 400 m
- Low profile

Minuses:
- Quite picky chassis
- Long projectile flight (unlike single-level LT)

As a result of this article, I would like to say that you should not forget about the main purpose of a light tank, and do not fly to the center of the map at the beginning of the battle for an instant drain. Tactics on LT are much more difficult than on other classes, because you not only shine, but also help your allies by keeping the enemy on the rink or distracting him. A light tank should always bring the team information about the location of the enemy, otherwise the team will simply stand at the base or, having gone in one direction, will lose by capturing its base. Be careful when playing on LT and good luck in your battles!
