Skyrim mod lost city in Russian. Forgotten city. Localizer fixes

Description:

The mod, which at the end of 2015 received the highest ratings from leading gaming communities.
The mod is a rather interesting... and quite difficult quest in which you no longer have to wave a sword, but actually think with your head.
The Forgotten City is an ancient city of the Dwemer, immersed underground and illuminated by an artificial sun, which, in addition to its centuries-old history, also has its own secrets that the main character has to discover. ...and not only reveal all the secrets, but also save the city’s population from complete and cruel destruction.
The quest begins with a letter that our main character from a certain Cassia. In it, she asks to come to her aid and save her brother, who, in search of treasure, went down to the Dwemer ruins they discovered and never appeared again...
A very entertaining adventure with a mystical-detective plot, time travel, beautiful locations, good music and full voice acting (though in English). And also: several hours of searches, examinations of different locations, detective investigations and other actions; interaction (both smart and not so smart) with many residents of the city, on the results of which a lot will depend: both in a successful plan and in a failed one: six different endings - both good and bad. Well, and finally: you will help all these people finally begin to live freely and happily.

Localizer fixes:

1. Added subtitles to the voice of the ghost in the fortress.
2. Added a message box to the house on the lake, warning about the letter.
3. Corrected one thread of dialogue from Dwemora, when she offered to teach her father a lesson, but did not say exactly how.
4. Fixed a bug with Altrius when he did not want to leave the city.
5. Moved aside a pile of garbage, which in some cases prevented Altrius from reaching the fortress.
6. Fixed the quest with Quint - now it doesn’t freeze.
7. NPCs will now actually not talk to the player until he talks to the jarl.

Installation: from the ForgottenCity_v1.5.0 folder we drop everything into the Data folder of your game directory, then from the ForgottenCity_Rus folder we drop everything there and confirm the replacement of the files. We connect the .esp file in the mod manager, launch the game via SKSE... and play. For those who are not comfortable with spoken English, be sure to turn on subtitles in the game’s “settings” - they are in Russian.

Attention! This mod conflicts with the Val Lyrea mod. So play... either this or that.

And so, straight to the results:

The only text in all of Skyrim that contains "yo". Pleasing to the eye.

I declare this is the best quest mod for Skyrim (in second place I can put “Fang of the Wyrm”

The music is sometimes better than the original, but unfortunately it is buggy (see below).

Interesting mechanics and idea. For the first time in the entire game, we are given the opportunity to think.

Thoughtful details of personalities and locales. Branched dialogues, with an individual approach to the type of player and his history on the surface. Several endings (they say there are 6, but I only found five...). All these various little things... wow... cause a rush of delight.

The atmosphere is unlike anything else. I strongly recommend installation!

And now about ways to eliminate the most common bugs:

TYTS

If your boots and mittens (or one or the other) are covered with visual anomalies (multi-colored pixels or stripes), then increase the texture resolution to “high”. Or install these textures (they improve quality and at the same time fix this unpleasant bug):

If your new music plays in unison with the original, then here is the solution:

Q: The music of this mod continues to play after I get out of the city into Skyrim.

A: Walking through the entrance hallway (entrance or exit) should stop all Forgotten City music from playing.
If that doesn't work, use these console commands until the music stops:
removemusic 000FCMUSDread

removemusic 000FCMUSExplore

removemusic 000FCMUSDiscovery

removemusic 000FCMUSCombat

removemusic 000FCMUSArbiterMotif

removemusic 000FCMUSArbiter

removemusic 000FCMUSJudgment

removemusic 000FCThrivingCity

removemusic 000FCMUSDreadHighPriority

Just enter each of these commands until the music stops. If your game has multiple instances of music, you may need to enter them multiple times.

P.S. However, it still played for me after all these manipulations.

So I unpacked the bsa archive of the mod and barbarically deleted the music folder.

Now in the “Forgotten City” there is wind noise in the background XD (sometimes something plays quietly, but this is rare and is not music, so, an unusual background sound). It's a pity, there was good orchestral music.

Well, or so, a lot has already been fixed and is ready to simply be thrown into the game folder. However, there will be no music in many locations of the mod (I even like it this way, but it’s a matter of taste), I warned:
https://yadi.sk/d/XCJEdLJ43YYWLB be sure to delete the regular version of the mod (if you didn’t unpack anything, then: ForgottenCity.bsa - delete).

Interesting game for everyone!

P.S. The effect of the "Helmet of the Judiciary" is amazing!

And a huge thank you to the translator!

This quest modification tells you about an ancient city that was destroyed a long time ago.

Your task is to uncover the secrets and find out what led to the destruction of this magnificent city.

Forgotten City was developed as a standalone game.
- 18 voice actors from the USA, France, England, Australia,
Canada and New Zealand.
- From 6 to 10 hours of completing separate quest lines.
- More than 1500 lines of dialogue. Several finals. Original
orchestral soundtrack. And most importantly - an epic city with a ton of characters.
- You will plunge into murder mysteries, investigation, mysticism and intrigue in an ancient underground city.
- Each resident of the city has his own character and history, and each of them is a potential quest giver.

How the quest begins:
- After player level 5, a messenger will approach you with a note from a certain Cassia “Unimaginable riches” and you go to the ruins of the Forgotten City, from this moment your story begins.
A little advice: Try to read the notes rather than take them with you. Do not break the rules when you are already in a busy city, they are the same as in any city in Skyrim (don’t steal, don’t kill, etc.)
Otherwise, the whole story will begin again and innocent people may suffer.
Companions also accompany you, but sometimes they need help, for example: jumping into a pool or not going where they shouldn’t!

Requirements: This mod does not require any SKSE, SkyUI, or any other. Although it is compatible with them. Just needs updated version Skyrim (1.9.32.0.8 latest) and official DLC.
Installation: Standard
Removal: delete mod files from the “Skyrim” folder

The standalone game was announced last week. And that's why original mod was so memorable.

My favorite Skyrim mods are usually the ones that change how the game plays out or add more customization options. Whenever I reinstall Skyrim, “Alternate Start-Live Another Life” is the first mod on my list. I prefer quest mods. To add to Skyrim new story, you need to write a new plot and voice the characters, all this is not so easy to do - the mod coped with this, but this is a rare exception. One of my favorite narrative mods is Sea of Ghosts, it reveals the story through new locations that have fallen into disrepair - a series of frightening islands.

However, The Forgotten City is not without an abundance of new characters. This is a quest mod that adds an entire settlement full of new people, fully voiced, each with their own story, which is woven into one plot that tells about time travel, human nature, and the role of laws in shaping society. It's huge, that's what I'm saying. This mod even has its own musical accompaniment.

As for why I'm playing a mod from 2015, if a separate game was announced at E3 - The Forgotten City. This will be a reboot that will remove all the features of the universe Elder Scrolls, will replace the characters and endings, leaving only the basic structure.

I'm almost sure that by playing this mod I won't ruin my impression of the upcoming game, because there's a lot in it that relates specifically to Skyrim. As soon as you enter the city (by traveling back in time to a time before it fell), you'll notice a lot of familiar things. The Imperials are in charge, while the Nords do all the work, and there are also several representatives of non-human and bestial races that no one takes into account.

One of the residents turns out to be a member of the Dark Brotherhood, and the other, an Imperial soldier who wants to get out to continue fighting the Stormcloaks. This place is completely cut off from the rest of the world - once you enter here by jumping into a hole in the cave, you will not be able to get out. But everyone who entered brought their own prejudices with them.

Despite all the tension city The Forgotten City should be a place of tranquility. All people here, regardless of whether they fled Skyrim on purpose, or accidentally fell into this hole, are under the jurisdiction of the “Law of the Dwarves.” This place was built by the Dwemer, and they left protection for all those who would live after them. If anyone in the city sins, the entire population will be punished for him. Deadly.

Having seen the future of the city, you know what is going to happen. Something is triggering a magical punishment left by the dwarves, and you only have a short time to figure it out and stop it. Luckily, you have plenty of options. If you are not successful, you can return back to the moment you arrived, starting another time loop, but armed with everything you have learned. There are even new dialogues related to this, including funny ones where you try to convince someone that you know what they are going to tell you.

Just as you remember characters, you remember locations. At first it doesn't seem huge. Just a palace, one area and a lake house, but there are other places to unlock and secrets to find. The limited size of the game area means you learn little by little and, over time, figure out where everyone lives and how to move around faster.

A self-proclaimed jarl who sounds like he could be Patrick Stewart. A merchant who swears he's honest, and a cynical healer who's annoyed that he's stuck in Forgotten City but says, “It could be worse. You could live in fucking Skyrim.”

It may be a little ridiculous that all these people ended up here just by jumping into a hole (Okay, one of them got pushed), but the fact that they're all stuck in one place knowing each other adds a lot of interesting interactions. The Forgotten City mod seems to be an argument for limited environments, demonstrating how great open-world games can be when they focus more on depth rather than width.

That's why I'm looking forward to a game that will eventually come out, but will first cut ties to Skyrim and become something new.
