Middle-earth shadow of war conservation. Guide: Technical problems and their solutions in Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Middle-earth: Shadow of War gives an error about the missing DLL file

In a conversation about "Shadow of War" ( Middle-earth: Shadow of War), perhaps dominated by the question of how much loot boxes and microtransactions contribute to the experience (namely: none), but on the inside, this is a skillful, innovative and quite original game.

"Shadow of War" is based on the "Shadow of Mordor" Nemesis system, where any random enemy can kill you and rank up (during revenge missions and other confrontations between enemies). Now you recruit new orcs (recruited in-game or perhaps purchased from the vendor The Headhunter) and set them against a series of fortresses in need of capture.

You can assign spies to get ahead of some high-ranking warlords when the siege begins, deploy your friendly orcs to thin the ranks overall, and even call in others to act as active bodyguards in the game.

There's a lot to use here, but if you're going to Mordor, make sure you know how to get to the other side.

12. How to automatically select items

"Shadow of War" requires awkwardly holding R1/RB to select items or equipment. It's the same button as capturing orcs or activating missions, and it's... a little annoying, to be honest.

But there is nothing to be afraid of - there is a way to move around and select items, just like in any other game. Simply go to the character screen, then scroll down to the Wraith row and you'll see "Treasure Hunter" next to the four icons.

Grab it and that's it - when you go through items, they are added to your inventory. Of course, those four badges mean you'll need to level up four times to get the required points, but Treasure Hunter is a vital level that eliminates one of the game's biggest drawbacks.

11. Intentional death has its benefits.

The very foundation of the Nemesis system is based on the fact that Talion cannot die, and makes the orcs the regional antagonists, allowing them to collect abilities and armor to boot.

But this also has its benefits.

Let's say there's a special Orc with a specific skill set that you'd like to recruit. Set up a mission to trigger their arrival or search the world and then fail on purpose.

They'll immediately get a level/ability boost, some new equipment, and a new title, all of which you'll then get if you find them and defeat them in this new form.

Of course, it will be harder to fight, but there is no other way to level up your orcs so quickly, and although this may sound like an excuse, it is much more effective and quick way creating a strong army.

10. Return a stolen/broken sword (even in better shape)

I wonder why you can't delete your starting equipment in your inventory? This is because the game keeps it around just in case the orc decides to break your new set.

In fact, during any encounter with a captain/warlord/overlord, it is possible to encounter an enemy who (if you are knocked down and left alive) will literally take your current blade and break it in half.

Although you thought he was missing forever, find new mission"Vendetta" that appeared with the mentioned orc, and go through it.

After defeating a new enemy (don't recruit them) they will drop the stolen equipment again - luckily with additional levels, which match any update they received to kill you.

9. You can assign several assassins to the governor

Tiny stats on the army screen - assigning orcs/captains to capture a warlord and assigning spies.

Shortly after you've dominated a certain Orc and given him a target, press the "Command" option on another and hover over the same Warlord whose days are already numbered.

After assigning a few traitors, start this mission and watch as your orcs reveal their true commands, draining the Warlord's health so you can get an easy kill.

8. How to use fighting pits effectively

Fighting Pits are one of the coolest features in Shadow of War - they're where your best orcs fight the game's random creatures, which only have AI controlled animations.

But while you can order any recently captured captain to infiltrate the upper echelons of the fortress as an assassin, you will always return to the same place (themselves fighting pits) for the fight to take place.

To get around this, capture the orcs and lure them to your side, but wait to assign the mission until you are literally in place in the pit. Once you're there, click on the Army screen and then tell your orcs who's fighting who. A mission will appear nearby and you can start it.

Repeat this for all your captured orcs and you'll save a lot of time. Just remember: capture/dominate as many orcs as you need, then fight.

7. Only quests and killing the captain give experience

It's unclear how they made such a mistake, but Shadow of War literally forgets to tell you how the XP system works.

In other words, if you think you can wander around open world, killing thousands of orcs and increasing rank, then do not expect an increase in XP.

But the only ways to gain experience are by killing the captain (found in the world) or through missions. Yes, killing Warlords and Overlords gives XP, but they are triggered from the map in the form of icons.

Note that story missions give over 10,000 XP once you get into the second act, so if you need to rank up your entire army, prioritize these missions and objectives. Your army's strength is equal to Talion's level, so sometimes you need to engage in battle, story or whatever.

6. Ghost Vision reveals rats that give health

Recovering health is much more difficult in Shadow of War, mainly because there are no items that restore it and your meter will only regenerate to the gray part.

Basically the rats will spawn nearby once the health level is low enough, so back away, hold circle/B and poke the little tiny heads.

5. You need to jam properly to ride Olog

It's a small but significant difference, although the game tells you that a stunned Olog will let you ride him, and it's not the circle/B button that will help. You'll get flattened while you're trying to achieve this.

It's best to wait until Olog starts attacking, a prompt will appear with a button icon above his head, and then press circle to stun him. Then press R1 / RB, and you will successfully mount the beast, now you can control it to clear the territory.

The same goes for missions where you need to “quietly kill” or “quietly dry out” enemies. "Shadow of War" just wants you to see the melee animations rather than take a long-range headshot.

Hopefully this will be fixed in post-launch patches, but just remember: it's probably not you, but the game being picky.

4. Power-ups and stones

These are two extremely important components of the game, and can be easily seen in the pile of menu prompts that make up the game's first act.

Gains: Perhaps when you take part in your first Siege or when you tell an Orc to kill another, you noticed the "Training Orders" option and found a couple of buffs there. Typically it's elemental damage, a troupe of extra orcs, or a special weapon change, etc. that the orc uses in each subsequent battle, but then... they disappear from the same equipment screen.

The reason is that these are additions locked in loots - equipment drops from the market that you can purchase with real money or gold coins that are given for daily tasks. Extremely useful: try to complete a few tasks before equipping your favorite Borgface The Stab-Lover with the best boosts.

Stones: You might think that they need to be collected again, first you want to spend some Mirian to open the necessary "gem" slots for each weapon, because they greatly affect the gameplay.

They work like this: (besides the fact that “red” = “damage”, “green” = “life” and “white” = “XP / recruitment level”) all stones of a lower level can be given to a higher one. You will need three first levels to create one second; three second for the third and so on. So don't let go of the orcs collecting gems (indicated by white arrows on the minimap), kill them, and even if you get a standard gem, combine them all together in sequences for better buffs.

3. Distract the orcs with noise

The Distraction ability in Shadow of Mordor has been updated so you no longer have to aim at the Orc for the tooltip to appear.

Now, instead of looking to see who's ahead, just hold L2/LT and aim. Whether you're in Ghost Mode or Normal Mode, use this to create a triangle/Y noise distraction at the location your crosshair is pointing at.

A very useful thing for destroying Captains who have moved away from their bodyguards. This can also be used to lure out enemies if you're on that annoying mission where you can't be detected.

2. Orcs can serve as human shields

In normal combat, we all run out of supplies. And when the screen quickly fills with many orcs from different factions, hold R1/RB to grab one.

This can be done in any part of the group, then leave with the loot, and every other orc that strikes deals damage to him.

This is a great way to get out of trouble, especially if the captain can be grabbed without giving in. Take advantage of the chaos: when more bodies appear on the screen, hit your target and then take him away.

1. Instant dominance and recruitment of multiple captains

One of the deliberately designed disadvantages is the reduction of your nearby. Before you manage to dominate/recruit the captain when you hold circle/B, another enemy will almost always interrupt.

To fix this, use the Combat Drain ability (press X + O / A + B at the same time), which allows you to grab someone immediately, rather than after 5-6 seconds.

And if you combine it with Double Charge (an ability that allows you to take on two enemies at once), you can dominate two captains at the same time. Both game "rollers" will dissolve one after the other, and even if there are no captains in sight, grab a regular orc for backup.

Learn how you can save your game in Shadow of War.

There is no obvious save game mechanic at work in Shadow of War, and that can make players a tad nervous. Nobody wants to do battle with a Captain far stronger than they are without knowing they won’t lose loads of progress upon defeat. Luckily, the save game mechanic in Shadow of War is there, even if it isn’t that obvious to most players.

How to Save Your Game

The easiest way to save your game in Shadow of War is to . Anyone who has put more than an hour into the game should know how to do this by now, as one of the first main quests has you purify a Haedir in Minas Ithil. Once you have a single Haedir unlocked, you can manually save your game just by fast-traveling to a purified Haedir in any of the game’s regions.

What you can’t do, though, is save your game through the pause menu in Shadow of War. That’s just not an option but, so far, I haven’t found that it’s needed to be. It doesn’t take long to unlock a Haedir, and my first order of business in any new region is to move to each Haedir and purify it, giving me good access to all that region’s smaller areas.

Shadow of War will also save after certain in-game events, such as a mission or quest completion. If you finish a main story mission, or even an objective within one, your progress is automatically saved. The same will go for when you finish a and, yes, that includes if you die. If you die to a Captain the game is going to save automatically, so that’s not an event you’ll be able to undo. That’s the entire basis for the

After which many players encountered some technical problems. The game behaves differently, so if Middle-Earth: Shadow of War won't launch, slows down, glitches, shows a black screen, there is no Russian language, low FPS or gives an error, then this article will definitely help you in solving many problems.

At first glance at the system requirements, you can understand that the game was developed using the same technology as the first part. And this is not a minus, but in some ways even a plus, because the game has low system requirements. To get 60 FPS on minimum settings For graphics, it is enough to use an “Intel Core i5-2300” and “Nvidia GTX 660” with two gigabytes of video memory.

But of course, I recommend much higher settings, and this does not take into account the various HD set that became available immediately after the game’s release. If you want to have the clearest picture in the game, then you will definitely have to buy a video card of the “GTX 1070” level and no less.

Saves are not compatible with the latest update in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, saves are incompatible with latest update ? This problem was noticed after 4K textures were installed. No sound in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

INMiddle-earth: Shadow of WarNo sound? If such a problem suddenly arises, then, as an option, you can try setting a different sound quality in the “Realtek HD” toolbar by default - 16bit, 48kHz. Middle-earth: Shadow of War won't download

Middle-earth: Shadow of WarNot is being downloaded? Sometimes problems arise when downloading the game, when Steam stops downloading Middle-earth: Shadow of War. In this case, the first thing you need to do is make sure that you have enough space on your hard drive. Once you are sure or have freed up space, try downloading again on Steam. If this does not help, then you need to restart your computer, and then change the download region on Steam. Middle-earth: Shadow of War takes a long time to load

In fact, this cannot be said to be a real problem, since it is rather the negligence of modern video game developers. Due to the fact that games now take up an extremely large amount of space on the hard drive, quite often older HDD models simply cannot cope with large volumes of work. As a result, loading takes much longer than usual.

Very long loading times in Middle-earth: Shadow of War are especially important due to the fact that the PC version comes with a set of textures high resolution and screensavers in 4K resolution weigh more than 100 gigabytes - this is simply incredibly large. In this regard, any old hard drive is unlikely to handle such volumes.

If Middle- earth: Shadow of Wartakes a very long time to load, then the first thing you should try to do is set the game to “high” priority in the Windows task manager. Also try lowering the texture quality to at least make it a little easier for your hardware to process game files for disk. You can also try installing the game on a solid state drive (SSD). The bottom line is that such disks are distinguished by their high operating speed, although they cost accordingly.

The version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War from the Microsoft Store does not work: Error 0x80070005

Quite a lot of players who bought Middle-earth: Shadow of War in the Microsoft Store simply cannot launch it. You can receive the update thanks to the automatic operating system update service, or if you download it separately on the support website.

The video card does not support DirectX 11 in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

First of all, go to “Device Manager” and select “Video adapters” there, then click on your video card, then turn it off. Now go back to the game, minimize it and turn on the previously disabled video card. Return to the game, select a discrete video card in the settings, and then confirm your choice. Now select your gaming video card, confirm your decision and go back to the game. If after all these steps the image ripples and the game itself freezes a lot, then you will need to switch again to the discrete video card, and then to the gaming one and confirm this.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War has blurry graphics or textures

Typically, this problem in a game is related to dynamic resolution. Dynamic lighting is always enabled in the settings for a smoother frame rate, so if blurry textures or graphics are bothering you, I recommend turning off dynamic lighting.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War freezes on the main screen

Middle-earth: Shadow of War does not produce more than 42 frames per second

Some players are complaining that Middle-earth: Shadow of War is locked at 42 frames per second, even though the computer is capable of much more. The problem is the configuration with the Ryzen processor and Nvidia video card. Unfortunately, there is no solution yet, so you will have to wait for a patch from the developers.

The set of HD textures cannot be downloaded for Middle-earth: Shadow of War

HD texture pack to enhance appearance Middle-earth: Shadow of War presented as free add-on to the game, but a couple of problems arise when downloading. As a rule, when the game itself is downloaded, and the player tries to download HD textures separately, a problem arises in which it is impossible to download improved textures. After these steps, the game will always launch from the main monitor.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War freezes after launch

If Middle- earth: Shadow of Warafter startup it starts to freeze, then most likely the problem is related to multiple controllers that are connected via USB. Press the key combination “Alt+Enter” to switch to windowed mode. After this, launch the game in windowed mode via “Steam” and try to change the resolution settings in the game this way.

Steam Family Sharing does not work in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

I think many people know that Steam has an extremely convenient function called “ Family Sharing" The function is made specifically for those cases when two or more people in the same family want to play games, but separately from each other. The point is that the function allows you to open libraries for each other and therefore, in this way, you can play all the available games in it.

Alas, but Family Sharing doesn't work inMiddle- earth: Shadow of War, since the game uses third-party network functions - for example, "WBPlay". Due to this, the developers had to disable Family Sharing in the new project.

In Middle-earth: Shadow of War it gives an error about the missing DLL file

As a rule, errors associated with missing DLLs occur when launching a game, although sometimes the game may point to some specific DLL files. And if the game does not find such files, then it simply crashes in the most blatant manner.

In order to fix this error, you must first find the required DLL and then install it on the system. The easiest way to do this is to use a program called “DLL-fixer”, which scans the system and helps to quickly find missing libraries.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War- famous sequel. Monolith Productions didn't make any astronomical changes or additions to the magnificent foundation that was Shadow of Mordor. Instead, they refined time-tested ideas and took quality improvements seriously. The Nemesis system became smarter than ever, and Mordor fell into disarray due to a large number of events. So much so that you can miss some very useful points that make life much easier. For this reason we have prepared this Middle-earth guide: Shadow of War, which will help a beginner before starting the game.

Buy and upgrade abilities

Shadow of War somewhat limits the player in the distribution of skill points, so it is worth distributing them with maximum efficiency. Generally speaking, it is better to first acquire all the basic skills and only then improve them. This gives more choice in gameplay. You'll be able to use different tactics in battle and gain access to special challenges that can reward you with experience and money. You'll also be able to define your play style and tailor your skill set to it, allowing you to determine where you can improve. You can only use one upgrade per ability, so choose wisely.

Skills work on an inheritance system, which means that you unlock them in a strict order from left to right. It's recommended to start with the basics like execution and mid-range shots, and then focus on Shadow Strike, which allows you to teleport and kill enemies from great distances. Shadow Strike opens up some questionable stealth options, and also makes traversing the enemy much faster. Speaking of basics, beat the first act and you'll unlock some great basic abilities. Once you reach the second act, you will also discover the capabilities of the Nemesis system, such as deadly threats and outposts.

Do you have a power scale?

In Shadow of Mordor, skills worked using a combo system. If you pull off a hard enough combo, you'll be able to use some ability. This was displayed on the combo scale - it turned red and a special button appeared. This system has been removed from Shadow of War. Instead, there was a “power” scale that filled up as different techniques were used. Once it's full, you can spend it on a special ability such as an execution or AoE. Luckily, unlike the combo system, you don't have to spend power all at once. You can save it between battles and spend it as you see fit. Power is used up quickly, and it takes a while to accumulate in the early stages of the game - spend it sparingly, and take upgrades that will help you accumulate it.

In fact, the main reason the Power Gauge made it onto this list is because its feature isn't immediately noticeable at the start of the game. Partially because it looks like a small, inconspicuous bar in the corner of the interface.

Captains are smarter than ever

Overall, Nemesis hasn't changed much, which is good. But the cunning captains have received some improvements. There are many more unique traits to look out for before attacking the captain, such as special new abilities such as tribe bonuses for pikemen and assassins. Moreover, they received new equipment. The captains you meet will have poisoned or cursed weapons that deal massive damage - the fight will end quickly if you're not careful.

More impressive new system adaptation. Captains now learn your strategies and adapt to them. They suddenly attack you with a rapid stream of attacks, forcing you to check every step, and a mistake will be unforgivable. Let's say you're fighting a shield fighter, a defensive class captain. The best way to defeat him - go around his shield and attack from behind. Great! The detour was a success. But don’t delay finishing things off. If you use this trick on him too often, he will gain a skill that blocks your jumps behind his back. Captains can cover their weaknesses if you give them time, so finish them off quickly.

At the same time, the captains received many weaknesses

Not the best news for them, by the way. Taelon has received some new tricks, and if you use them wisely, you will quickly finish off Uruk and its elite. For beginners, there is a big difference between weakness and mortal weakness. If the captain is weak to attacks from afar, you can damage him with a bow. If the captain is "lethally" weak to such attacks, you can finish him off with one shot - one enhanced headshot. The same applies to explosions, sneak attacks, executions, and so on. Mortal weakness is your best friend.

There is also a new status “stunned”, which is also part of this system. Captains may be intimidated if you take advantage of their fears or weaknesses. Set them on fire, poison them, kill their guards - confuse them in any way. Because when the captain is "stunned", all their immunities are gone. Poof - and no. Immunity to execution? Protection against hidden attacks? Blocking ranged attacks? Not now. The frightened captain is not completely defenseless; he may begin to try to escape. If you still have arrows and power left before the captain's fright, you can finish them off easily.

You can improve your equipment

The process of acquiring and upgrading equipment has received greater development in Shadow of War. First of all, you are changing the item instead of adding new stats to it. This creates an addictive loot-grind system like in Diablo, and there are some new rungs on the ladder to better gear. In addition to replacing old weapons with new ones, best stats, you can improve the quality of your Epic or Legendary items by completing challenges associated with them. These can be found in the item description and once you complete them you will unlock new passive abilities.

However, you will also have to spend Mirian to start using them. Epic and Legendary items are often better than even more common items higher level, especially after the upgrades, so it's worth spending time on these tests. In addition, there are now bonuses from the legendary set, otherwise the comparison with Diablo would be incomplete. You can also disassemble equipment to get Mirian - now this is also a resource for grinding.

Other guides for Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Even before the release, many players were worried about the quality of the PC version of the game. Surprisingly new part Middle-earth turned out well, but there are still technical problems. How to fix the jambs you can read this article!

Libraries and drivers

To the exit Middle-earth games: Shadow of War, more sophisticated drivers for video cards have appeared. You can download them on the official websites:
Download driver - Nvidia GeForce
Download driver - AMD Radeon

Next you need to update the libraries to latest versions, namely DirectX, . NET Framework and Visual C++:
Download DirectX
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4

If, after all these preparatory measures, problems still arise in the game, then this means that the problem is on its side. And such cases need to be examined separately.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War won't launch - Error "Direct3D 11.1 API not available"

The problem often occurs only on Windiws 7, without the latest updates.

The reason is that stock Windows 7 does not have the necessary software to adequately work with some of the features of DidectX 11.1. Reinstalling or updating DX will not help.

To resolve the "Direct3D 11.1 API is not available" error, you need to update the OS itself. This can be done in two ways: in automatic mode ( ! relevant only for those who have a license) or go through all the updates manually.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War won't launch - Error 0xc00007b

Another error that appears when starting the game. It is also associated with the OS. However, in addition to the updates from DX 11.1 described above, the game requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1 full set of updates.

Shadow of Mordor saves are not compatible with Shadow of War

Even before the release, Monolith Productions promised the ability to transfer some achievements from Shadow of War to Shadow of Mordor, but this feature worked until the latest patch. Now when I try to transfer saves I get an error. Perhaps in the next patches the developers will fix this problem.

FPS stuck at 42 in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

This is one of the most important problems in the game. This is due to the fact that the game engine limits the maximum frame rate. This can be observed on some cards from nVidia (8th generation and earlier) and on video cards with a Ryzen processor from AMD.

At the moment, there is no official list of unsupported cards, so you should avoid purchasing new hardware. Let's hope that the developer will fix this in future updates.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War does not start - The program has stopped working

A common problem when trying to start. The cause of the error could not be determined. It might be something to do with the game's configuration files. Let's try to dig into them.

The required configuration file "render.cfg" is located approximately here " C:Users[username]DocumentsWB GamesShadow of War". If there is no file or folder, run the game at least once and search for the file again. Hurray, the folder with the files we need has appeared/is, open it using any text editor and find the line "Windowed" there. Ok, found. Now change its value to 2. Then save the file and try to start the game again.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War - large page technology does not work

Among the many options of the game, there is one that has confused many players, its name is “Large Page Technology”. It is interesting not only because of its name, but also because it refuses to work. When you try to activate this option, a window pops up saying, sorry, the function is not available.

What kind of function is this? I’ll tell you right away that the description is quite vague, apparently that’s how it was intended. Wandering around the Internet, I came across a forum where they discussed the principle of its operation, and so - after activating such a gloomy and incomprehensible function, the game begins to use more memory of your PC, which in theory should affect performance with a large amount of RAM. In fact, a system with 16Gb RAM does not allow running large page technology.

How to solve the problem remains a mystery, but you don’t have to worry, since some people still managed to “start” this thing and report that there is no increase in productivity, and even vice versa.

You can't start a new game in Middle-earth

Many players after the release of the game complained about the lack of starting the game again. How did this happen? Have the developers really been so foolish? Maybe they really missed something when developing the first build, because sometimes people playing on version 1.0 are faced with the fact that there is simply no “Start” option in the main menu new game". Not known.

To solve the problem, you can simply delete the game and install it again. However, in the very first days the game received a patch that corrected this problem.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War takes a long time to load

Compared to other problems, the very long loading time shines brightly. Each time games weigh more and more, as in the case of Shadow of War, it takes up more than 100Gb of disk space. This is really a lot, and the good old HDD simply cannot cope with processing such a volume of high-resolution textures and screensavers in 4K resolution.

If you still want to play without waiting 30 minutes or even more for the download, you should think about buying a modern HDD or SSD whose operating speed is an order of magnitude higher.

Steam Family Sharing does not work in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Many people know a feature on Steam called Family Sharing. It is made specifically for those cases when two or more people in the same family want to play each other's games. They open libraries for each other and can play all the available games. But, unfortunately, this convenient thing does not work in the new part of Middle-earth. This is all due to the third-party network functions that the game uses, namely “WBPlay”, which is why the developers had to disable Family Sharing in it.

There is no solution to this problem and there cannot be one, since it is on the side of the developer and publisher. Perhaps they will still add support for Family Sharing. Or maybe not.

No sound in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

This is the end of the use of old built-in audio cards, the sound quality of which cannot be higher than 16 bits and 44 kHz.

For Middle-earth: Shadow of War to work correctly, you will need an audio card that supports at least 16 bits and 48 kHz, otherwise the game engine refuses to produce any sound. We will consider this the first message, implying the purchase of a more modern audio card, but it is still worth doing this in order to protect yourself from similar problems in future.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War gives an error about the missing DLL file

As a rule, problems associated with missing DLLs arise when starting a game, but sometimes the game can access certain DLLs during the process and, not finding them, crash in the most blatant manner.

To fix this error, you need to find the required DLL and install it on the system. The easiest way to do this is to use the DLL-fixer program, which scans the system and helps you quickly find missing libraries.
