Take the snake so that the outermost triangle of the puzzle is in your left hand. Use your right hand to turn the rest of the snake around this part. Rotate each fragment only once by 90 degrees. After each bend, move on to the next part of the snake. Collect in order, without missing triangles. In this case, always turn the tail, the part relative to which you turn remains motionless.

Start assembling the ball from the snake, the action is as follows: turn the part to the left, the next one to the left, turn the third part to the right, the fourth to the left, the fifth to the right, the sixth to the right again, the seventh to the left, the eighth to the right, the ninth to the left, the tenth to the left again, the eleventh to the right, the twelfth to the left, the thirteenth to the right, the fourteenth to the right, the fifteenth to the left, the sixteenth to the right, the seventeenth to the left, the eighteenth to the left again, the nineteenth to the right, the twentieth to the left, the twenty-first to the right, the twenty-second to the right again and the last part to the left.

Insert a drill with a diameter of 1.5-2.5 mm into the drill and, having drawn the block into squares, drill a through hole in each square. The holes must be mutually perpendicular to each other.

To assemble the elements you will need a strong rubber band. If the cross-section of the bar was no more than 25 mm, you can simply stretch the elastic through the holes of the parts, placing the parts in a strip, alternating colors one at a time.

Tie metal rings tightly to the ends of the elastic band to secure the structure. For larger snake modules, they can be connected with screws to rubber shock absorbers.

And further - If you want Snake durability, don't skimp. And when buying a puzzle in retail rather than online stores, do not rush - turn the links, look at the quality of the plastic. There should be no space between the links when you try to stretch the Snake, but nevertheless the triangles should follow your movements quite easily.

The standard Snake consists of 24 triangle elements (prisms) connected by hinges.


Triangles are usually divided into 2 colors. In my version - blue and white. Therefore, you can also receive figures in two colors (as far as possible), everything looks clearer without words, using the example of the “Ball” figure from Rubik’s Snake.

How to read diagrams for assembling figures?

First you need to position the snake correctly. Its starting position is as follows: all parts form a straight line. If you look at it from the side, the dark triangles appear at the bottom. Accordingly, light ones are on top.

All dark triangles are numbered from 1 to 12. From left to right, of course. These dark parts remain motionless during the process of assembling the snake figure. Light details will rotate. The next step in the instructions for assembling a figure from a snake will begin with this number.

If you need to rotate the triangle on the left, then the instructions will contain the letter “L”. The right part rotates if the letter "P" is present.

The number of turns is limited to 3. Since the fourth will return the part to its original position. The number of turns appears after the letter indicating left or right. The movement is clockwise.

Thus, each part of the instructions for assembling a figure from a Rubik’s snake is formed from three components:

  • triangle number (1-12);
  • turning side (L or R);
  • number of turns (1-3).

And every now and then I had to collect the ball, which is still difficult for children to do.
