The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 smartphone, which was officially presented in Russia on May 17 and just went on sale.

Instead of the current firmware based on Android Oreo 8.1, users began to receive a notification about the availability of 1.7 GB firmware V9.2.13.0.NEIMIEK.

Experienced users had doubts about such a downgrade, since such an update looked more like a mistake by the developers.

The erroneous mailing was due to the device having the “Whyred” code. The same name corresponds to the Indian version of the phone with the prefix "Pro", i.e. Redmi Note 5 Pro. In fact, if you look at the firmware code, it is the same for both models. Therefore, the developers could get confused with the many distribution regions in which the global version of Redmi Note 5 was presented over the last month.

If you have the global version with Android Oreo 8.1 installed, then installing the V9.2.13.0.NEIMIEK firmware for Redmi Note 5 is highly discouraged!

Another problem is that users still confuse Redmi Note 5 with Redmi Note 5 Pro. Mistakenly believing that it is the version with the "Pro" prefix that is currently being sold in the store.

Therefore, it is important to clarify that in official stores in Russia and Ukraine, you can only buy the global version of Redmi Note 5.

MIUI 9.5.6 firmware versions from 9.5.11 were intended for the global version. If such firmware was installed on the Indian RN 5 Pro, then the user received a problem with the camera, battery power and a number of other bugs.

There are no such problems on MIUI 9.2.13. It is perfectly optimized for the Indian "Whyred" device. Considering the number of owners of this smartphone in India, the developers have taken such a step.

Otherwise, it is impossible to explain why a separate branch for the RN5 Pro was removed from the Downloads section, and only the page with firmware for Redmi Note 5 Global was left. Where the latest firmware version is V9.2.13.0.NEIMIEK. And the firmware that is installed on the phone "out of the box" is added to the "Old versions".

Dear owners of Redmi Note 5, be careful. Unfortunately, developers are people too, and sometimes they make such stupid mistakes.

MIUI 9.5.3.0 for Xiaomi Mi 5 / Pro

Xiaomi Mi 5 users have started to get the new firmware V9.5.3.0.NAAMIFA, instead of the previous V9.5.2.0.NAAMIFA.

Unfortunately, the update turned out to be inoperative, as after the installation the phone started to reboot cyclically. This problem is called "Bootloop". Most often it occurs if an update is sent with a damaged firmware zip file located on the server bigota.d.miui.com.

MIUI 9.5.19.0 for Mi Mix 2S
