How to get into a general battle. Update "General Battle" for World of Tanks. Routes and positions

Update number 9.20 for the multiplayer tank action game World of Tanks brought the long-awaited mode “ General battle"with 30 vs 30 battles. Chinese tank destroyers were also added, the main advantages of which are combat versatility, a large viewing radius and good camouflage.

Essentially speaking, now World of Tanks has truly massive battles in areas of 2 km². True, to take part in it, you need to have a tank of at least level 10. Victory brings bonds - a new currency that can be used to purchase pre-battle instructions and improved equipment, allowing you to further strengthen your tank.

The rules of the new regime are:

  • 60 players on the map, 30 on each team.
  • Only Tier X vehicles participate.
  • Battle time: 15 minutes.
  • Victory conditions: capture the enemy's base or destroy all of its equipment.

Teams are formed as follows:

  • The general battle is formed from the general queue of the “Random Battle” mode.
  • Getting into a general battle occurs randomly, by analogy with other types of battle: assault and oncoming battle.
  • The general battle will be disabled by default for players with insufficiently powerful computers. However, they will be able to enable it manually in the game settings: Settings > Game > Random Battle Types > Grand Battle.
  • Each team is conditionally divided into 3 subgroups, 10 people in each.
  • The player cannot choose a subgroup; membership in a specific subgroup is determined by the balancer.
  • The composition of teams in the general battle is regulated general rules balance 2.0.
  • The composition of each subgroup by type of equipment will be as similar as possible to the composition of a similar subgroup from the opposing team.
  • Each team can have no more than 4 self-propelled guns.
  • The difference in the number of platoons between teams is no more than 2 platoon players.
  • If at least one player in a platoon has the “General Battle” battle type enabled, then such a platoon can get into this type of battle, regardless of whether the rest of the platoon members have it enabled.

Battle map:

  • The general battle takes place on the Nebelburg map measuring 1.4 x 1.4 kilometers.
  • The appearance of players on the map is regulated by their subgroup.
  • Each subgroup has its own starting position (“initial rep”).
  • Two bases: one for each team (as in a standard battle).

In addition, the second beta season is expected soon " Ranked battles", in which the conditions for obtaining chevrons will be complicated.

The announcement for update 9.20 talked about something special that could freshen up random battles - the grand battle. New format- this is the classic gameplay of standard battles, a new large map and 60 Tier X tanks. Today we're sharing details about what's special about the Grand Battle format so you'll be ready to take action when you find yourself on the battlefield.

Review

  • Mode: random battles (general battle will be available along with standard battle, assault and counter battle).
  • Teams: 30 players each.
  • Technique: only X level.
  • Map:"Nebelburg".
  • Task: capture a base or destroy all enemy equipment.

Going into battle

You can fight in a 30 vs 30 battle if you have at least one Tier X vehicle. Starting with update 9.20, the chance of ending up in a pitched battle will be approximately 10% for all players using Tier X vehicles, the chances of getting into a standard battle are 60%, a counter battle is 15%, and an assault is 15%. It is worth understanding that these figures are approximate and the probability of formats dropping may vary depending on the state of the queue. With fewer players the ratio may change.

The new format may degrade the performance of computers with weak configurations. To prevent this from happening, we have disabled pitched battles on low-performance computers by default. If you still want to try it out, you can enable the format in the settings:

Getting to know Nebelburg

New. Big. Map.

Designed specifically for pitched battles, Nebelburg is a 1.4 x 1.4 km summer map with mixed terrain that gives 60 players plenty of room to maneuver. The hill overlooking the central area is perfect for scouts. "Heavyweights" and PT will be able to meet in close combat on the narrow streets in the western part of the city. And the hilly plains in the east will allow medium tanks and vehicles that can easily move over rough terrain to implement a wide range of tactics.

Respawn point

Respawn point

Each team has three vehicle spawn points on the map. 10 combat vehicles appear at each point. These are the so-called subgroups.

The location where a specific vehicle appears at one of the points depends on the following conditions: heavily armored vehicles appear in front, self-propelled guns appear in the rear line, all other vehicles appear in the middle of the subgroup.

Subgroups of opposing teams are mutually balanced: the balancer tries to evenly distribute the composition of subgroups by type of equipment between subgroups opposing each other.

There are two ways to achieve victory in a general battle: by destroying all the enemy’s equipment or by capturing the base.

The capture of a base occurs according to the rules of random battles: all tanks located in the circle of the enemy base participate in the capture. Capture time - 100 seconds; When several tanks are in the capture circle at the same time, the capture time is reduced. The minimum capture time is 33 seconds, when there are three or more combat vehicles in a circle.

Respawn points

Both teams of 30 players are divided into three subgroups of 10 combat vehicles. In order not to waste precious seconds on regrouping at the beginning of the battle, we tied the location of the appearance of a specific vehicle in these squads to the type of vehicle. Heavily armored tanks advance in the front ranks, while self-propelled guns remain in the rear line and cover the squad from the rear. The rest of the vehicles appear in the middle of the subgroup, including heavy tanks that did not have enough space at the front edge. And players who are in a platoon will begin the battle in one subgroup.

Balancing subgroups

The balancer distributes the opposing subgroups in such a way that none of them has an advantage due to the composition of the equipment. Units appearing on one section of the map will always have approximately the same number of platoons, self-propelled guns, tanks and tanks, thereby turning the battle into a confrontation of skill rather than luck.

However, unlike other random battle formats, decals will not be awarded in pitched battles.

  • Radley-Walters Medal

By the way, it is worth recalling that the number of self-propelled guns is limited to four vehicles per team.

Awards and earnings

You will be able to replenish your resources in general battles not only with silver and experience, but also with bonds! To get them, you need to earn at least 400 pure experience points per battle (excluding premium account and bonuses). The number of bonds is directly proportional to the total amount of experience earned. To find out how many bonds you can get, enter the amount of experience earned per battle into the calculator:

In addition to the ability to stock up on bonds, there are many other nice little things that will turn up the heat in pitched battles. For example, in the mode you can perform personal combat missions and receive medals, but the latter will require more effort as the conditions for four of them have been specially adapted for the new format (details in the table below).

However, unlike other random battle formats, decals will not be awarded in pitched battles.

The general battle is the classic gameplay of standard battles, but large maps, where you can fight 30 vs 30 using Tier X vehicles. For participating in battle, you will be able to replenish your resources not only with silver and experience, but also with bonds. The number of bonds is directly proportional to the total amount of experience earned.

Rules

  • 60 players on the map, 30 on each team.
  • Only Tier X vehicles are available.
  • The battle time is 15 minutes.
  • Victory conditions are similar to random battles.

Balancer

  • A battle of the “General Battle” type is formed from the general queue of the “Random Battle” mode.
  • Only Tier X vehicles can participate in battles of the “General Battle” type.
  • The player enters the “General Battle” battle type randomly, just like “Assault” and “Encounter Battle”.
  • The “General Battle” battle type is enabled by default for all players. You can enable/disable this type of battle in the settings: “Settings” > “Game” > “Types of random battles” > “General battle”.
  • Each team is conditionally divided into 3 subgroups, each with 10 players.
  • The player cannot choose a subgroup - membership in a specific subgroup is determined by the balancer.
  • The composition of teams in the general battle is regulated by the general rules of balance 2.0.
  • The composition of each subgroup by type of equipment will be as similar as possible to the composition of a similar subgroup from the opposing team.
  • The number of self-propelled guns in a general battle is limited to 4 units per team.
  • The difference in the number of platoons between teams is no more than 2 platoon players.
  • If at least one player in a platoon has the “General Battle” battle type enabled, then such a platoon can get into this type of battle regardless of whether the rest of the platoon members have it enabled.

Map

Nebelburg map for the "General Battle" mode

  • Fights take place on special maps Nebelburg, Klondike and Oryol Salient.
  • Map size - 1.4x1.4 km.
  • The appearance of players on the map is regulated by their subgroup.
  • Each subgroup has its own starting position (“initial rep”).
  • There are two bases, one for each team, as in a standard battle.

Interface

  • The loading screen, statistics screen (called by the Tab key), post-battle statistics screen, as well as the team composition panel are adapted for 60 players.
  • The entire team is divided into 3 subgroups.
  • The composition of each subgroup can be viewed in detail by clicking on the corresponding subgroup.
  • The top element of the user interface has been changed. In addition to the total number of vehicles destroyed by a team, this element now also displays the remaining total HP of each team as a percentage.

Awards, achievements and statistics

  • In each “General Battle” battle, players will be able to receive bonds. Players will also be able to receive bonds in regular random battles, where only level X equipment is involved (the so-called “twelfth level” of battles). Bonuses are awarded to players who have earned 400 or more units of pure experience as a result of a battle.
  • The number of bonds received as a reward depends on the experience earned in battle.
  • The player will be able to complete combat missions, personal combat missions, and also receive all the rewards available in random battles.
  • In the general battle, players will be able to receive class badges and marks on their weapons (as in random battles).
  • Battles of the “General Battle” type are not taken into account in the summary of the player’s achievements and do not affect the statistics of random battles.
  • Statistics for this type of battle will be displayed separately in achievements: “Achievements” > “Statistics” >
  • Statistics on the success of a specific vehicle in the “General Battle” battle type will be displayed separately in the achievements: “Achievements” > “Vehicles” > “General Battle” battle type.”

If winter for you is a time to sit at home with the heating on maximum, then get ready for the “ten” battles in the Klondike. The new winter map will get really hot when the teams face off in a pitched battle. Let's figure out together where to deal damage and destroy the enemy in the deceptively quiet expanses of North America!

general information

  • Place: North America (somewhere on the border of Yukon and Alaska).
  • Size: 1.4 by 1.4 km.
  • Fight type: general battle (standard and counter battle: to participate in such battles, make sure that you have the “ General battle", « Standard fight" And " Meeting engagement").
  • Tasks: Capture a base (enemy in a standard battle, neutral in a counter battle) or destroy all enemy equipment.

Welcome to the Klondike

Inspired by the stories of Jack London, we present a Klondike map that transports tank battles to North America, where muddy streets and ramshackle wooden shacks of diggers and miners tell the story of the Gold Rush. However, do not be fooled by the apparent calm of the north. Lonely buildings covered with snow, roads along the hills, muddy river banks - all this will sparkle with new colors in a hot battle.

Routes and positions

Teams begin the battle on the southwestern and northeastern edges of the map, with three spawn points on each side and three paths leading into enemy territory. Head north to the mine and attack the bridge over the river in the center, or head to the abandoned settlement on the island in the southern part of the map.

Whichever direction you defend or attack, focus on key points located in the neutral territory between the two sides. The battle for these zones will be hot: capturing these points will provide a tactical advantage and allow you to advance towards enemy defensive positions.

Mine

The mine in the north consists of many corridors, buildings and narrow passages, ideal for “butting” heavy tanks and other assault vehicles.

  • If you find yourself in a mine on heavy tank, remain alert and watch for detours. Otherwise, you may come under fire from a passing enemy, who will begin sending shell after shell at you.
  • Fast medium and light tanks should pay attention to detours to catch the enemy by surprise and cover their allies.
  • When playing on light tanks, support your team by detecting enemy patrols.
  • Vehicles such as the Grille 15 and Strv-103B can support the attack by dealing damage to the enemy from defensive positions located on the edge of the map. Having taken a good place there, sniper tank destroyers and self-propelled guns can significantly influence the outcome of the battle, destroying enemy equipment.

Island

The island to the north of the central bridge is a vast open area dotted with miner's shacks. This area is most suitable for fast technology, which rarely stands still and attacks the enemy from a distance.

Strategies for specific types of equipment

  • If you are playing through the southern flank with a heavy tank, lead the attack by heading towards the island. If the situation requires it, you can move to the center of the map or play defensively. Try to predict the enemy’s maneuvers and choose the most suitable tactics for both yourself and the team.
  • Light tanks will be able to take advantage of multiple open areas to spot the enemy, take position in houses and use their vision to “light up” enemy positions.
  • Medium tanks will be able to unleash their full potential by firing from cover or skirmishing from the first line alongside TTs. Maneuver, play from a tower or view - there are plenty of possibilities.
  • Fire support vehicles will do well on the second line. Choose the tactic that suits you best, but it is better to take a position and fire from a medium distance. If you prefer riskier maneuvers, there are plenty of positions for tactics such as shoot-and-run.
  • Self-propelled guns must fire at the detected enemy from the third line.

Central Bridge

Most likely, in the central part of the map everything will be quite calm until some point. At the beginning of the battle, the main action will take place on the northern and southern flanks, as teams will try to take control of these directions in order to gain access to the base. Once they have control of the flanks, teams will devote significant forces to defending the bridge or capturing it, depending on who holds the flanks.

Strategies for specific types of equipment

  • When you go into battle in a heavy tank, repel enemy attacks. While you are drawing fire, fire support vehicles will be able to support allies at the mine or on the island
  • Fast medium tanks can try to find gaps in enemy defenses or attack from the flanks.
  • Light tanks should stay on the field, transmit data about enemy positions and shoot off their “light”. It would be a bad idea to carry out maneuvers alone. Coordinate with fire support vehicles, transmitting intelligence.
  • If you choose a fire support vehicle or self-propelled gun, keep an eye on the mini-map. Analyze the situation and provide fire support where it is needed, helping your allies and cooling the ardor of an overbearing enemy.

The Klondike map requires tactical teamwork: fight side by side and take advantage of each vehicle type to conquer the north! ANDNotforgetsharewith us impressions.
